Joe Kaiser ESPN.com Article "Iowa State landing key Pac-12 transfer?"
Iowa State is reportedly the favorite to land Arizona State transfer Trent Lockett, the senior-to-be who may file a waiver to be eligible to play in 2012-13 much like Arizona transfer Lamont "MoMo" Jones did at Iona this past season.
Lockett indicated in March that while he enjoyed his time at ASU, he wanted to play closer to his ailing mother in Minnesota. The Cyclones, which showed this season that assembling a team of transfers could work, would offer exactly that and be a driveable distance from Lockett's hometown.
A solid guard with good size, Lockett isn't the most athletic player but has a strong mid-range game that could help the Cyclones.
The report of us being the favorite is this article from the univ of Minnesota: http://www.startribune.com/sports/go...145427825.html Self proclaimed 2012 CF Newcomer of the Year -

has there been any word on when he will make his decision? Seems like it is taking forever and from the article it looks like he hasn't even filed the paperwork to play next year.

I don't really have any backlash, just uneasiness about losing 5 to 6 seniors off this team and not knowing who will replace them. I would feel much better if we had another freshmen coming in this year (or juco). I would also feel better if we knew who would be coming in the next year.

Who exactly do you suggest, freshman or juco, that is available, can contribute next year and not be a waste of a scholarship for the next 4 years?
Just trying to understand this thought process.

We need better balance of the classes so it doesn't put so much pressure on the coaching staff to land a great 2013 class.

I am sure the coaching staff has some idea of who is coming in, relax, Fred is in charge. It would be nice if they would tell us, but that usually backfires.

Just trying to understand this thought process. A perfect scenario would be two junior college players that had a great freshman year and would and would be sophomores their first year at Iowa State. That would give us 4 freshmen, 3 sophomores, 1 junior, and 5 seniors on scholarship next year.
Or bringing in one junior and one sophomore would be okay too to give us two sophomores and two juniors a piece.

You keep saying how lockett won't be going to minny, and it seems like you don't want him to. Yet you don't want him to come here? You're confusing as all get out.
