I don't think it will be a tourney...my guess is just 2 games where ISU plays either Drake/UNI and Iowa plays the other. Rotate every year.

Because the way it has been working means UNI, Drake, and Iowa all in the same year = 3 games. By playing just UNI/Drake on alternating years and Iowa each year = 2 games - thus allowing the opportunity to schedule a good opponent to replace the 3 game that normally goes to either UNI/Drake.

The state of Iowa’s Big Four men’s basketball programs will play a doubleheader at Wells Fargo Arena Dec. 15, part of a restructured approach to in-state scheduling, Northern Iowa athletic director Troy Dannen confirmed to the Register.

Northern Iowa will meet Iowa and Drake will play Iowa State in the initial doubleheader. All four schools have agreed to a four-year contract. Iowa and Iowa State will rotate opponents each season. That means the Hawkeyes will play Northern Iowa in 2012 and 2014, and Drake in 2013 and 2015. The Cyclones will play Drake in 2012 and 2014 and Northern Iowa in 2013 and 2015.

Ticket costs are expected to range from $25 to $70, with the four schools splitting proceeds. Each school will rotate as host, with Iowa serving as the event host in 2012.
