I don't get this argument. playing 2-5 mins in mop duty every 3rd game will not get them "ready" for next year. That's what the hundreds of practices vs big 12 caliber players are for. It's just a waste of a year.Quote:

3-4 minutes of real game experience is > than scout team action.
The only way you redshirt someone in our situation is if they are truly incapable of performing at a B12 level.

The argument that they will play significant minutes is crazy. Playing two to five minutes in the first ten games and then playing one to three minutes during conference is what is most likely to happen. This isn’t the NBA, teams go three maybe four deep. Playing that limited amount of time would not help them at all, don’t even try to convince others that it is.

If that is the case you don't want them to redshirt because you don't want to tie up a scholarship for 5 years on them. You play them a few mop up minutes here and there and if they stay fine, and if they transfer they can use the redshirt year at another school.Quote:
