We're not Stanford, so we may as well excel in sports

Re: Pelle Visiting!
What makes everone so certain Pelle is an academic risk? Is this a known fact, or just a rumor?

Because most people shoot with their right hand the left-handed shot blocker has an advantage because they can reach straight up to block a right handed shot instead of reach across to the other side to block the shot.

This is not knowing if Lockett signs with us. This line up would be pretty sick. They could get up and down with the most athletic teams in the NCAA.

Seriously though......I don't see ISU (at least not with FH in charge) ever getting to that point with players. At least I hope not. I still can't figure out how Kentucky does it and has any scholarships to give with the supposed restrictions the NCAA puts on a school when players don't graduate or transfer.
From what I have read and heard, the transfers that FH has brought in so far have done fine academically. Maybe Pelle will just not work out.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come. -

I think it is assumed that he is still a risk, although he is attending a Prep school to amend this issue. I don't know that anyone knows for sure how he is doing. I'd like to think that if we are going to this much trouble to get him - that the staff thinks he will qualify.

Re: Pelle Visiting!
I have a hard time believing that Pelle is a one and done player. He was rated as highly by scout and espn as he was by rivals, I think he was down around 70 or 80 on those services. He seems extremely raw and the evaluations are that he is atheletic and can block shots but is not a great rebounder, scorer, and lacks intensity.
With some work he could be great, but I just don't think he is one and done, unless he just doesn't want to be in college which might be the case if he struggles academically
