I don't know if SMU is a good example but there are teams, or at least fan bases, who saw what Fred did and are asking their coaches why they can't do the same thing. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few more teams try to bring in 4-5 transfers to jump start the program. Nebraska is one.

At least he is letting them stay in school on scholarship and told them he would help them find new schools.
Agree. He is just being completely honest and saying he doesn't think they have what it takes to play for him. This probably happens a lot more than we realize, maybe even this year here with Sledge and Railey (if they werent headed out the door already). Most of the time the "cutting" is kept more private though.

It's not like Fred didn't tell anybody not to come back when he took over. Granted, Dendy had already said he was leaving and was trying to come back, but still. These guys could all be head cases too, unless some of you are harcore SMU basketball followers.
I don't mind this at all. They are being allowed to stay ane go to school on scholly. Just being told they are no longer on the basketball team. Kids should know that its not there right to play ball. I give smu credit for allowing them to stay on scholly and attend school for free.
Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.
I'm surprised if they are linking what Larry is doing to Fred's strategy and they are listing some of the guys Larry has coached in the NBA that they don't also mention that Larry coached Fred in the NBA. Seems like sort of obvious information to include.

Yep, the teacher has become the pupil (at least in this scenario).
