RECRUITING: A new prospect to keep an eye on
This is pretty fresh news so I have no clue at all if Iowa State is interested, but when you factor that ISU has 2 open scholarships for next season, it would make sense. Freshman Dorian Finney-Smith will transfer from Virginia Tech - Hokies Journal - The Washington Post -

Sounds like he needs out of the east to me not sure if that's how you all read it though.

Fresh news in that you've heard something from within our program that makes you think we might go after him, or just fresh news. Since we aren't on the list of schools that were recruiting him as a high schooler, seems pretty unrealistic that we'd be in the running to land him. Don't get me wrong, he would be a good get, but it seems like our transfer U persona is starting to fade away.

What would make anyone think that a kid from Virginia that went to Virginia Tech would be interested in going to Iowa State? I just don't get why every single transfer that is a good player gets brought up on here. We are interested in players that we have connections with such as Lockett from Minnesota that we recruited out of high school, Uthoff that is from Cedar Rapids that we also recruited out of high school. I just don't get why people continue to bring up people such as Oriakhi and this kid when there is clear that we have no ties to any of these players.

Do you guys really think Chris would start a thread about a transfer if the staff wasn't going after him? This isn't Clones21 starting a thread here

It could be that people like CW have access to information that you don't?
Now, nothing may pan out with this kid for the reasons you mention.

Just bringing up transfers that we have no connection with is kinda dumb though in my mind especially considering that there are close to 400 transfers and a ton of other schools i'm sure have open scholarships

Almost all of those schools would be on his restricted list now, I'm guessing this round of recruiting will be a brand new set of schools.

I like this to be posted, just so I know about it. Chris isn't even saying we're interested.

I suspect that is it.
