Re: Hoiberg at yesterday's Motivational seminar at Wells Fargo

My company used to pay to send a select number from our office. That was a fwe year ago. Now they don't do that any more because of all of the sales pitches.

Nothing for CFH.

Side note. Carl Rove was interesting to hear describe 911. Some really good inside stuff to share about how they flew 5 feet from the ground at 125 mph to get to the white house.
    Carl Rove, Motivational??

Seriously, Rove was invited to do motivational speaking??? 'Cause when I think motivation, I think Karl Rove...

EDIT: just read Cyberclone's post; beat me to it!

Re: Hoiberg at yesterday's Motivational seminar at Wells Fargo

Did Fred pick 'Eye of the Tiger' as his intro music or did they do it ?

What a great speaker Fred is. I felt really bad for him that the place was mostly empty and he had like 15 - 20 minutes to speak. I had never heard his soapbox derby story before.

We know he can coach, motivational speak, and he played in the NBA. Is there anything he cant do better than 99.9 % of Iowa ?

I really liked most of the non seminar sellers that spoke. Kirk had too much information for the time he was given (I'm not sure he stopped for a breath). Steve Forbes had this annoying tick with his hands that was distracting me. I really liked Dan Rather and I can see why he lasted so long in the news business. The memory guy spent all his time talking about nonmemory stuff. The spiritual guy kept distracting me with this 1% talk. The round table was really good, I didnt think I would like Rove and Gibbs but I did (not a fan of political hacks). Bill Cosby was hilarious. That 'I do what the voices in my wifes head tell me to do' T-shirt was priceless. Joe Montana wasnt the most dynamic speaking personality in the world but I liked his stories/anecdotes.

I realize the seminar sellers are funding this thing but good grief. There ought to be a law broken if you tellsomeone they can buy a $3000 system for less than $100 bucks. Shouldnt that pricing tip you off something is 'up' ? Better yet he is just repackaging required government filings.
