Re: After this years NBA Draft
Ricky Davis for Iowa too. played him in high school.
Re: After this years NBA Draft
Iowa may have a bigger fan following in the state.. but that is due to what I call the "sidehawk" fan. The sidehawk fan is akin to the sidewalk/band wagon fan. You might hear them say things like, "Who's Iowa's basketball coach?" The fact is that ISU educates more Iowans than EICC.
Re: After this years NBA Draft
there are a few fringe types from each school that Hung around the bva for a while too.
ISU
Meyer
Shirley
Iowa
earl
I'm sure there are more for each team. I still hate Iowa and agree that ISU has had the better bball program in my lifetime and I'm 33 for references sake.
Re: After this years NBA Draft
nba not bva. stupid auto correct phone. love the app tho guys!!!
Re: After this years NBA Draft
I think it was in the 1993-94 time frame, Golden State had Barry Stevens, Jeff Grayer, and Victor Alexander all on the roster. Top 3 isu all-time scorers (at the time) all on same NBA team. that was cool.

That's partly the reason draft order doesn't always equal contribution.
Of those, only Acie Earl would have seemed like a solid first-round choice.
Ronnie Lester and Marcus Fizer were obvious candidates for high picks.

I would guess any other teams that can say that would have fared much better on the court.
That would be incredible if true. I think you need to read th OP a little closer.

So yeah, ISU is better over the last 2 decades, but I would not say there is "significantly" more success, although the 2000 ISU team was by far the best college basketball team in the state in the last decade, advancing 1 game farther than the 1999 Iowa basketball team.
Re: After this years NBA Draft
Nice analysis ... but gotta question the validity of the stats. Iowa has 15 yrs in the top 25 in attendance? You gotta be shittin me. That place is a morgue compared to Hilton !

Remember that time they claimed 9500 in attendance when in reality there were about 800?
I wouldn't take any attendance numbers out of CHA seriously, unless its wrestling.
