Re: Source: Naz Long has signed Letter of Intent
Chris said he will be a solid player. Not great, not all conference. That was a litle of a downer when I heard that on the radio.

We got a new Marshall here in town, and his name's Paul Rhoads, and the times, they is a'changin'.

Does this mean RW is gone to the NBA?

Now, I said FWIW because ESPN isn't exactly phenomenal at recruiting coverage (actually they aren't good at all). However, that is pretty weak sauce. It could be because he is from Canada, though. Not a whole lot of coverage there compared to here, plus he went back to his hometown to play instead of AAU.

I think that he is going to be just another solid piece to the puzzle as Freddy tries to turn Iowa State basketball into a top tier team. Point guards are hard to get (even though he's probably a more suitable 2) and he is extra reassurance if we can't get Monte Morris, Terrence Samuel, or Tyler Ennis (long shot) in next year's recruiting class. And who knows, I've watched videos and if he starts to make better decisions and works hard he has the athleticism and potential to be a good 4 year player for us. All in all, a solid pickup.

Besides ISU, Long had offers from Creighton, Dayton, Missouri and Miami (Fl), among others. That's a decent group of schools to be offering.
Compare that to Dusty Hannahs and Michael Carey from TT or Charles Hill from TCU. On paper, all appear to be much worse HS recruits than Naz.

Re: Source: Naz Long has signed Letter of Intent
Naz Long must be a special player. Just a few months ago he was going to enroll mid-season at a D1 NCAA Tourney school and take over the starting point guard spot. I would think that is tough to do on a struggling team, let alone a NCAA team that finished third in a major conference and pushed the National Champs as hard as anyone in the tourney. For this to happen, his leadership and skill level must be off the charts.
Seriously, I hope he has a great career at ISU.

Fred's opinion vs. ESPN's opinion? I will take Fred's opinion vs. some losers writing behind the scenes of players they never watch.

Re: Source: Naz Long has signed Letter of Intent
He had a nice offer list, and was probably a bit under the radar. Very happy to have him as a Cyclone.

I don't understand why we're down on somebody who hasn't even played a game yet.
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.
