What do we know about this Clayton Custer?

    From SI...
Coming off his solid performance at the Nike Elite 100, rising junior point guard Clayton Custer from Overland Park (Kan.) Blue Valley Northwest has been adding offers. His most recent offers came from South Carolina and Tulsa. Custer also holds offers from Kansas State, San Francisco, Houston, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. Iowa State is among the latest schools to show interest and the six-foot point guard will take an unofficial visit there Monday. After visiting the Cyclones, Custer will head to Stanford for its elite camp and plans to visit South Carolina in August. Custer also mentioned that he's likely to see OU again in the fall. Oregon State, Santa Clara, Kansas, Harvard, Creighton, Lehigh, Rice and Nebraska have also contacted the rising junior since the beginning of the contact period.

Welcome to the Cyclone family, Clayton! It's great to have you on board!

If everything goes as planned we will have Jones, Long, Morris, and Custer on scholarship at the same time, all pgs. Granted Long could be a combo gaurd and Jones will be a Sr. But if you look at our bigs for that year it is pathetic! We will have Gibson and Niang with Hogue possibly able to play some 4. Thats it! And Gibson and Hogue will be Srs. We have got to get some bigs soon to even things out! Cant always bank on getting Juco or transfer bigs that can be solid contributers in the Big 12 to fill out team every year.

Monte can play the 2 also... You're assuming Custer is ready to play major minutes day one when he walks on campus? I hope so, but that is a lot to ask from a freshman. As for the bigs your stressing over. This is a scenario that is almost a full 2 years out. Plus if I were a big looking for a school ISU in '14, ISU would look pretty tempting right now. Opportunity for early playing time and potentially great guard play to go along with it. The bigs will come soon enough...
