Clayton Custer
Cyclone Fanatics, assemble.
What do we know about this Clayton Custer? From SI... Coming off his solid performance at the Nike Elite 100, rising junior point guard Clayton Custer from Overland Park (Kan.) Blue Valley Northwest has been adding offers. His most recent offers came from South Carolina and Tulsa. Custer also holds offers from Kansas State, San Francisco, Houston, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. Iowa State is among the latest schools to show interest and the six-foot point guard will take an unofficial visit there Monday. After visiting the Cyclones, Custer will head to Stanford for its elite camp and plans to visit South Carolina in August. Custer also mentioned that he's likely to see OU again in the fall. Oregon State, Santa Clara, Kansas, Harvard, Creighton, Lehigh, Rice and Nebraska have also contacted the rising junior since the beginning of the contact period. UCLA lands heralded prospect LaVine, more basketball recruiting - More Sports - SI.com -
Re: Clayton Custer
Do we really need to recruit another point guard? Korie (Sr.) Bubu (Jr.) Naz (Fr.) and recruiting Monte Morris (HS Sr.).

It would make sense to get this kid if we can because he's still a junior in HS. By the time Custer would even get on campus, Naz would be starting his junior year.

Last year everyone was concerned about not having enough PGs and now we have too many? I think not.

Re: Clayton Custer
Yeah why are we recruiting more than one PG? When are Fred and his staff going to figure this recruiting thing out? "But you know that old thing, live fast, die young? Not my way. Live fast, sure, live too bloody fast sometimes, but die young? Die old. That's the way- not orthodox, I don't live by "the rules" you know." - David Brent -
Re: Clayton Custer
Love the obvious nickname for our future floor "General" if he signs.

He's a 2014 player. We have a long ways to go before he "signs".

Plus, it's probably (okay, definately) way too early to talk nicknames when we're going up against Kansas and Kansas State for an Overland Park kid.

Re: Clayton Custer
And for the one poor soul who's worried about too many PGs - we currently have one signed PG on the '14 squad, and we're not completely sure how good he'll be, and we have zero commits. It's possible some of these " PGs" will actually be combo guards at the D1 level. Horde PGs if you can. Good ones make opposing teams miserable, and not having one makes you miserable (unless you have a point- forward, that is).
