This may be a transfer we could be interested in since we needs bigs. This could be a great fit. He's immediately eligible. Still have a scholarship for next year. Position of need.

Re:AVAILABLE TRANSFER/De-COMMIT ALERT
He doesn't even play in the Big East.

Re: AVAILABLE TRANSFER/De-COMMIT ALERT
First glance: O'Brien seems like a no-risk thing for a year. If he works out, he's solid frontcourt depth. If he doesn't, we were OK, anyway.

i see this as a no risk type of thing too.. if he is solid great if not its at least another post player in practice and no harm done
Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -

I didn't really feel like this warranted it's own thread, but per twitter this guy just got released from Marquette and was previously offered by ISU T.J. Taylor - Yahoo! Sports Jeff Borzello@jeffborzello
T.J. Taylor, a JC transfer who arrived on campus earlier this month, has been granted his release from Marquette.

Iowa State offered him in 2010.

T.J. Taylor, a JC transfer who arrived on campus earlier this month, has been granted his release from Marquette. Did they suddenly realize that they didn't have enough scholarships?

Article doesn't say much other than leaving for personal reasons. Not supposed to make assumptions, but what do you make of it? Grades, concussion issues again, too many better players.......? The articles I've read on him sure made it sound like he always wanted to go back to Marquette once leaving Oklahoma. Now he leaves there even before he plays? Strange.

We don't need anymore shooting guards.
