Re: Ouch Bleacher Report
This one crossed the line...even for them.
Outstanding Player, Husband, Father and now coach.
On top of that he has a heart condition.
Why the hate for him? Look how many first round picks have flamed in the last 15 years.
Look how many Pro athletes are on rosters in all sports and don't even play.
Hoiberg averaged 6ppg in an NBA career which lasted a decade.
IMO the worst athletes are pro players with no stats and no playing time. (especially if they were 1st rounders)
Pretty laughable really. But again its the The Bleacher Report
Make sure you don't call the charge. But make sure you call the foul on the scrum.... -

Is Bleacher Report the same blog that asked, in an apparently serious manner, if Brittney Greiner should have been drafted by an NBA team?

I move to ban the OP for linking Bleacher Report.

I am so amused as to why people link Bleacher Report. They generate their articles based on hits, not fact. They put people like FH in their articles to generate hits to their website because they know chumps from ISU message boards (Cyclone Fanatic) will post their articles and gain more hits.
And yes I agree members should be suspended for posting garbage like that.

So this thread sucks and I'm going to go ahead and start the derailment process...
I've had this conversation with several friends and opinions are mixed, but if you were able to play in the WBNA what would your numbers be? I'm getting long in the tooth, but I really think 20 rebs and 5 blocks per game isn't that unrealistic. Maybe Bleacher Report should look into this with a list.

Re: Ouch Bleacher Report
I think Fred was quoted as saying he could dunk in middle school; ******* middle school! Yeah just a terrible athlete though.
The really sad part is that the guy's (author of the article) biggest athletic acheivement was probably a game-winning bunt he laid down in tee ball as a kid. Poor journalism is a disease and Bleacher Report is the host.

Re: Ouch Bleacher Report
I'm guessing that the extent of the research/thought process into this ranking was white + good long-range shooter = poor athlete by NBA standards.

I went to a WNBA game a couple weeks ago as part of my daughter's basketball tournament. They played PHYSICAL. I presume a good HS baller would fare pretty well on strength alone but the guards were quick and the bigs played tough. I was completely surprised.

Re: Ouch Bleacher Report
I actually expected to open that list and see Troy Davis and I wouldn't have argued.
But Freddie? As someone else pointed out, a lot of second round picks struggle to make teams. Somebody has a personal vendetta against him or ISU to put him on that list. No way he belongs.

Re: Ouch Bleacher Report
a completely arbitrary list of names pulled off the top of some morons' heads compiled to **** off idiots on the interwebz and get them arguing about it. Looks like they succeeded.
read this post quickly - it might not last long -

Re: Ouch Bleacher Report
It should be noted too that with the exception of a couple of years in Indiana when he was new to the league and one year in Minnesota, he played on some pretty poor teams. The ones in Chicago were terrible. How Floyd lasted 3 years as coach is amazing. Oh well.......it's Bleacher Report. There is not much credibility there.

Re: Ouch Bleacher Report
I didn't click to the article, but is this really the title, "100 Worst Athletes in Sports History"? And Fred is on there?
How many bowlers, golfers, curlers etc. are on there. Where was he on the list? You don't get to the NBA by being one of the Worst "Athletes" of all time. I would argue that makign the NBA alone would put you as an automatice exemption from ever not being called a great athlete. You may not be the best BBall player ever, but athletically, you are in a very small group of the elite.
