Non Conference Schedule games/Vegas Info
Looks like we will be playing the Campbell Camels and North Carolina A&T in Ames in the week prior to the games in Vegas. Then we play Cincy on Friday the 23rd and then either UNLV/Oregon on Saturday the 24th. Both of these games on UNLV's home court. Hopefully we don't pull an Iowa and get smoked by Campbell! Ha. So out of our 12-13 non conference games we know so far we are playing: Campbell, North Carolina A&T, Cincy, Oregon/UNLV, Drake, Iowa, and BYU. So that's 7 games filled already. Does anyone have any information on who else we might play?
So the schedule will look something like this:
Nov 3-Exhibitition
Nov 10-Empty
Nov 13-Empty
Nov 16-Empty
Nov 18-Campbell-home
Nov 20-North Carolina A&T-home
Nov 23-Cincy-@ Vegas
Nov 24-UNLV/Oregon-@ Vegas
Dec 1-BYU-home
Dec 4-Empty
Dec 7-@ Iowa
Dec 15-Drake-@ WF Arena
Dec 19-@ UMKC
Dec 29-Empty
Then conference starts on like Jan 2nd

Re: Thanksgiving tournament in Vegas information
Do we get a return Michigan game this year? Or is that still a few years off?

Re: Thanksgiving tournament in Vegas information
I bet hok fans are praying that we lose to Campbell. I'm excited to see us play Cincinnati and possibly Oregon!
“I told you, I don’t care if you’re black or white. I don’t care if you’re rich or poor. I don’t care where you come from, whether it’s Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I don’t care about any of that… But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads -

Yeah playing UNLV at home might be a disaster for us since they are loaded. But on the other hand i wouldn't mind having a chance to beat a very quality team.

Good opportunities for resume building wins against Cincinnati and either UNLV or Oregon.

Other schools mentioned/rumored; Bradley, Eastern Michigan, and Western Illinois playing in Ames.

Re: Thanksgiving tournament in Vegas information
it's confirmed that we will be playing BYU in Ames on Saturday December 1st for the 2012-13 season. Then it is also confirmed that we will be playing at BYU for the 2013-14 season. We will also be playing Michigan in Ames for the 2013-14 season not the 2012-13 season. I love that we are scheduling good teams! Re: Thanksgiving tournament in Vegas information
So far our non conference home games are terrible. Hopefully we add another good team to play at home so that we have more than one game in Hilton against BYU to look forward to until conference play starts in January.
No Iowa, UNI, or Drake at home this year. Has to be the first time in a really long time that this has happened. The Big 4 classic is just dumb.

at UMKC on December 19th. A Wednesday game on the road against a low major 6 days before Christmas...interesting.

Re: Thanksgiving tournament in Vegas information
Hopefully they can sneak over an Akron/Kent State type thing. Throw in Ohio and those are some upper tier MAC schools (in Basketball).
Yes I am a homer before anyone asks.
