Quality recruits: Is anyone as worried as me that we won't get any more?
I'm starting to wonder why, after the quick commitments of Matt Thomas and Monte Morris in a short span, there aren't any recruits with long-standing offers banging down the doors to join them. It seems like everyone is just sitting on their offers, and then everyone will commit to the blue-chip schools on their lists and leave us only competing for players with offers from mid-majors. It's probably paranoia, but ISU fans have had good reason to be paranoid. In particular, I'm worried traditional big men see ISU as unfriendly to post player development, given CFH's own history as a guard and his favoritism for smaller lineups and 4/5s who can shoot (Booker, Niang) and/or ball handle (White). Even with only one traditional big on the roster right now (Gibson) interest seems tepid, and although it's notoriously hard to judge what a recruit is thinking, none of them are saying things like "ISU seems like a good fit/nice place," etc.
On a side note, I'm mad that Marquette seems to be winning EVERY major recruiting battle with us. I counted five players with shortlists including ISU and Marquette, and four were eventually won by them, Thomas being the lone exception. I know they've had recent success, but surely their program isn't seen as THAT much better.

Yep, here we go. Fred's out of gas. Looks like we are stuck with 4 two stars to finish the class. Someone call Pollard, I want answers.
Edit: Our only person in the draft was a post player fyi. Not sure how we are not post friendly.

I've never been less worried about ISU recruiting in my entire life...and I'm old. This class will be outstanding.

Oh, and Marquette IS ahead of us and some of those guys were local Milwaukee boys.

I'm basically looking for a guy like Kelvin Cato or Jared Homan who can be a defensive stalwart. It just doesn't seem to be a point of emphasis.

Jameel was from Milwaukee originally before he went to Indian Hills, from his tweets he seems to love being from there, wasn't surprised when he committed there, but was disappointed we missed out on him.

Mckay's hometown is Milwaukee. I'm not surprised he is going there. Can't blame Fred and Iowa State for that. I'd want to play in my hometown too.
