I never said he was about as good a ball player now as he'll ever be. I said he is much closer to his ceiling now than the typical early NBA draft entree.
Maybe that is what you were trying to convey, but that's not what you wrote. You said, without any qualifications, that he was pretty close to his cieling due to his average athleticism, period. You offered no comparison to other early NBA entrants. Whether you meant it or not, your op implies you think he doesn't need much improvement to reach his ceiling. In other words, he is about as good of a ball player as he will ever be.
Well than I apologize that my OP needed elaboration. I thought I made it clear I was referring simply to his chances at leaving early. Apparently that wasn't the case.

If Georges truly excels as a SF then the height argument is moot. But of those guys you listed only one is a PF or post player and that's White who I think we can all agree leaves big shoes for Georges. I'm not saying Geoges can't make it to the NBA because I am a believer that anything is possible with lots of hard work. I just think it's a long shot at this point to consider him as having the opportunity to leave early simply because that is such a rare opportunity.
I know what positions they play, and at this point no one is sure what position Georges will play at ISU. And again, I am not trying to convince people that he can or will play in the NBA. Watching the NBA draft, every time a player was drafted that was 6'7" they also mentioned that they were undersized, even the SF's. So I thought it was relevant. Jared Dudley was not highly recruited out of high school and he did not have a 3 point shot at that time but the coach that recruited Jared and coached him at BC told me that Georges reminded him of Jared and later that same year Juwan Howard told Georges the same thing after scrimmaging with Georges.
Interesting, thanks for the insight. I guess I was under the impression he would play the post in which case he would be undersized for the NBA (which doesn't preclude him playing in the NBA). If he ends up playing the wing like you're saying may be possible, then his size would be good for an NBA SF.
