Stadium naming rights
Minor bruhaha here in the valley as the ASU AD is considering selling the naming rights to Sun Devil Stadium in exchange for funds to remodel that relic.
So, my question is: With the possible exception of The Cyclone Fence Company - would you ever be in favor of renaming JTS in exchange for the funds to complete SEZ?
(the students here are against it as I am against whoring out JTS but want to see other's thoughts if it comes to that)

We will be smart. We'll be physical for 60 minutes and we will hit you coming off the bus. We will be a passionate team that will bring pride back to the Cyclone nation." - Paul Rhoads CYCLONE CLUB AND SUNSHINE & RAINBOWS JIHAD MEMBER -

No. Never. I love the Jack Trice story and I love the story of how the stadium came to be named for him. I would always want JT to get top billing.

No...it would be a bad idea and a dishonor, not to mention a PR nightmare for ISU, but selling the naming rights to the field would be a great idea.

Not a chance. The students fought to change the name to honor Jack Trice it would be an embarrassment to throw that away for a money grab

So, my question is: With the possible exception of The Cyclone Fence Company - would you ever be in favor of renaming JTS in exchange for the funds to complete SEZ? The only way I'd be in favor of it is if the company completed the south endzone, helped us get facilities to be the best in the Big 12 and give donate to help our coaches to get paid as much as coaches in ther Big 12. Even then I'm pretty hesitant. Otherwise, no deal. JTS is a stadium we can be proud of with its historical name. No other college stadium in the nation can claim it is named after an African American. Now if they were to complete the south endzone and wanted naming rights to the endzone only, be my guest!

I don’t care where you come from, whether it’s Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I don’t care about any of that… But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads -

Re: Stadium naming rights
How about leaving the name "Jack Trice Stadium", but selling the naming rights to the field? That seems pretty common for colleges when revamping sporting venues.

I would go along with "XYZ, Inc" Pavillion at Jack Trice Stadium

If it was still "Cyclones Stadium", then yes in a heartbeat rename the stadium if you could get some serious dough.
However, our stadium name has literally one of the most unique and historic stories behind it and I would never remove it.

Re: Stadium naming rights
Never change the name of our stadium. Some things just don't have a price tag.

Re: Stadium naming rights
We already sold the naming rights to the red zone. There are 60 yards left to cash in on.

Re: Stadium naming rights
Sure. For $100 million it can be whatever-Jack Trice stadium
I was a victim of a series of accidents, as are we all.
