Re: This years team vs Last years team
The point isn't the seed, its that the team last year is probably greatly underrated and being much better than last years will prove difficult. I think last years team was probably in reality a Top 15 team.

I feel like this year's team will end up with a similar record, similar tournament placement, but it'll be spread more evenly over the entire season.

Re: This years team vs Last years team
Roster depth has progressed nicely during Fred's run.
Trying to predict how a season will play out this far in advance is folly (unless in I.C.).

Re: This years team vs Last years team
Losing Royce, Scott, and Allen we lose 38 pts, 15 rebounds, 10 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block per game.
Clyburn will get 15 pts, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal per game.
Lucious will get 8 pts, 2 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1 steal per game.
Niang will get 6 pts, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist per game.
Booker will get 3 more pts per game, 2 more rebounds per game, and 1 more block per game. A total of 7 pts, 6 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game.
Gibson will get 3 more pts per game, and 2 more rebounds per game. A total of 8 pts and 4 rebounds per game.
Babb will get 2 more pts per game, and 1 more assist per game. A total of 10 pts 3 assists per game.
Tyrus will get 2 more pts per game, and 1 more assist per game. A total of 10 pts 2 assists per game.
I don't think there will be much change in Ejim's or Bubu's stats.
So the overall stats will look like this:
Clyburn: 30 mpg, 15 ppg, 7 rpg, 2 apg, 1 spg
Babb: 30 mpg 10 ppg, 4 rpg, 3 apg, 1 spg
Lucious: 30 mpg, 8 ppg, 2 rpg, 5 apg, 1 spg
Ejim: 25 mpg, 9 ppg, 7 rpg, 1 apg, 1 spg
McGee: 20 mpg, 10 ppg, 3 rpg, 2 apg, 1 spg
Booker: 20 mpg, 7 ppg, 6 rpg, 1.5 bpg, 1 spg
Gibson: 20 mpg, 8 ppg, 4 rpg, .5 bpg
Niang: 15 mpg, 6 ppg, 3 rpg, 1 apg
Bubu: 10 mpg, 4 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 1.5 apg, .5 spg

Re: This years team vs Last years team
I never really took into consideration that our scout team is not going to be as good this year.
Last years scout team was:
Lucious
Sledge
Law/McBeth
Clyburn
Railey
This years scout team:
Naz/Fowler
Law/McBeth
Dorsey-Walker
Okoro
Ellerman
Even though Lucious and Clyburn didn't play last year competition in practice was better last year. Royce was playing against Clyburn. Allen vs Lucious. Now Clyburn will be against Dorsey-Walker and Lucious against Naz.
Just like in 2010-11 the only reason we competed every night is because Diante, Jake, Scott, Ejim, and Jaime played against Royce, Booker, Babb, and Allen every day in practice.
I really hope the fact that we are not playing against any experienced upperclassmen/transfers in practice doesn't hurt us this year. I hope the fact that we have 6 returning players, 7 upperclassmen, and great depth at every position in our top 9 man rotation will help make up for the downgrade in talent that we will be facing in practice.

These two will play more than you think.
I think we'll have no trouble having good competitive practices.

Naz and Okoro might get 2-5 minutes per game. We have a 9 man rotation already without them. Unless they are phenomenal they wont see the court much.
