Gilstrap/Clyburn Comparison
These two are very similar players. The only differences is that Gilstrap was more of a 3/4 since he rebounded a little better and had more blocks. Clyburn is more of a 2/3 and a better shooter. But overall these two are almost clones of each other.

Re: Gilstrap/Clyburn Comparison
That may be a bit of a stretch, similar players... kinda... Clones of each other... not really.

Re: Gilstrap/Clyburn Comparison
I hope Clyburn has better hands and is a better ball handler than Gilstrap, excited to see him in action.

Re: Gilstrap/Clyburn Comparison
I think Clyburn will be better, but I can see the resemblance.

Re: Gilstrap/Clyburn Comparison
I think Gilstrap was a good garbage man, like a shorter Dendy. Not a guy who you'd want to take the last shot (UNI game-Dendy) but a guy who would be a match up problem. From what I've seen, Clyburn looks a little more polished.

He's a better shooter and ball handler for sure.

Re: Gilstrap/Clyburn Comparison
Wow, Clyburn and Gilstrap aren't even close to being similar. There is more to it than just looking at the stats. Their games are completely different.

Re: Gilstrap/Clyburn Comparison
Numbers are similar. That is where the comparison ends.

Re: Gilstrap/Clyburn Comparison
Yeah they are similar in the fact that they will have both played 1 year at ISU.
If you have actually watched both of them play I don't understand how you can think they have similar styles. I would compare Clyburn to Wes Johnson before Gilstrap.

Re: Gilstrap/Clyburn Comparison
One guy had those #'s in the MWC and one had them in the Big 12.
Gilstrap was better than ISU fans gave him credit for but he didn't have a good handle at all. Clyburn does. He's more skilled and should be a better scorer.

Will is definitely a better ballhandler and probably a better shooter, but Quez was strong as hell. I thought he averaged a double-double in Big 12 play - which is awesome.

Re: Gilstrap/Clyburn Comparison
Clyburn better be better than Gilstrap. Strap could do some things. But he couldn't guard anyone, took a lot of terrible shots and turned it over way too much.

Re: Gilstrap/Clyburn Comparison
Gilstrap was the man! Guy gave it 110% percent every night. Only real highlight to that season IMO. Diving for loseballs, grabbing way more boards than a guy his size should get, and just being a little bit mean. Wish we could get him back for another season right now. He would bring a heck of a spark.
