Now we can be pretty selective with our last big man. If I had to guess, it will be Washington or Hassan Martin.
Add in a good wing player, and that is a very complete class. 2013 we might start off a little bumpy, almost like this past year, but we'll have some good players that should be able to put it together.
I actually like that he has only one year; gives us another 2014 scholly without having to bank one for 2013.
Gilstrap had never played Big 12 basketball and only had one year to play and all he did was go out and average a double double in Big 12 play
[QUOTE=acgclone;3037308]HS was a long time ago for him. Redemption can be a powerful thing. Look at Royce. IHCC probably would steer Fred clear if he was a cancer.
Says he spent a year at God's Academy for God's sake - there is your redemption right there. He may bump his halo on the rim though. (is that goal-tending?)
Guys, I don't want to get everyone excited or anything but I really think this kid has the potential to be a one and done
I like getting anyone from IHCC, the play an uptempo, unselfish style and they win.
Good start on the class. Don't know if he'll start, but he adds flexibility.
Does anyone else think that the Bubu situation and Amardi commitment the same day were related? Amardi comes in for 1 year. Bubu would have had one year left. I know it's a different position but a scholarship is a scholarship. I feel like Fred noticed he had another available one year scholarship that he can take a risk on and Amardi is the type of player that you pick up for one year and take a risk on. This way the classes are still balanced and we get another post for a year. I'm guessing our interest in Amardi sprouted when we found out about how Bubu more than likely will not be on the team in 2013-2014 which i wouldn't doubt that happened around the same time that Amardi came here for the football game. So why not invite Amardi to campus and sign him for a year.
Maybe Fred knew a week ago how this would shake out.
