Every Iowa fan I have talked to has stated they will be in the NCAAs this year no doubt. ISU losing to Iowa this year would be no surprise to ISU fans as Iowa should be a good team and its a road game for ISU.
I have a feeling that losing to ISU would be extremely deflating to Iowa fans. They will not have any other opportunity for a good non conf win besides that game.

Hate to say it, but I side with some of the hawk fans in this thread. Most (if not all) UI fans I've talked to think/ hope to be a bubble team - and I think that's entirely realistic. The fanbase is excited because when you were as terrible AND boring as the Lickliter teams, an improving, up and down the court, high scoring McCaffery team is something to be excited about - relatively speaking. It's completely justified, and we'd be acting the same way.
IMHO, the game will come down to rebounding and defense in the frontcourt, and maybe most of all: Lucious vs. Gesell.

Let's hope this squad gels and figures out how to play together much quicker than last year's did.

Anthony is a really good defensive player but is not as good on the offensive side.

Re: ISU iowa mbb in Iowa City
Clemmons is definitely speedy and quick on Defense, but probably not going to be much of a difference maker, especially on the offensive end. He looked very hurried in the exhibition game. I could see him playing 5-10 minutes a game at point, but Gessell will probably see 25 minutes on average, with Marble covering some of that time as well. AJK, you need some new hawk friends, because it appears yours, just **** you off every time you talk to them. Go to the message boards, a small minority believe we'll be NCAA tourney bound.

. The U of Iowa, supported by their adoring media all over the state, have hyped this program up for three years.
Now cyclone fans are buying into hyperbole from Dolph, Bobby Hansen, DM and CR area print and TV talking heads and their excitement for Iowa mbb
screw Iowa. Some of you need to attend their games and watch Hickory, IN revisited, and sit on your hands with the other uninformed fans in that dump
I can't believe some of you expect us to lose to Mad Fran ad the Fight'n McCaffreys.. good gawd
