Re: Dustin Hogue commits
Reading between the tea leaves we're looking for one more big (4/5) and possibly one more guard (Thomas or Maurice Jones).
If we landed one between Thomas/Jones and the C from IWCC, I can't say there would be any holes in this class.

He's not going to be built like Royce or TRob. After reading more about him, his skill set and projected CBB position is more like Hogue's than I thought. As suggested by Cydkar, he is probably off ISU's board at this point.

If people can argue that we sign Thomas in spite of all of the wings, we'd also still take Hunter. You can't have it both ways. You sign the best players and talent you can, then let Fred coach it out.
Besides which, scratching four year players off your list because of a two year JC player is just...crazy.

First you say let Fred sort it out, then you call his strategy crazy.
Which is it? Fred is the only one that matters, and he appears to be crossing off HS kids in favor of Hogue and Armardi, plus possibly Soumaoro and Jones.
Obviously he thinks these players can help him win more/faster than the HS kids he's crossing off.
The people here are doing nothing more than trying to decipher what Fred's doing retrospectively.

Where have you seen Fred saying that he is crossing them off his list? Link, please? All that I have seen here is speculation and unsubstantiated rumors.
I'm sure you can do better than that. I'm interested.

I'm sure you can do better than that. I'm interested. You said it yourself that crossing off HS players in lieu of 1-2 year players is crazy, yet that's exactly what Fred's strategy has been since he's been here. So far he's probably brought in as many or more 1/2 year guys than he has HS players.
If you haven't picked up on this yet, then I don't know what to say...

If you haven't picked up on this yet, then I don't know what to say... Stop waffling. Seriously. Where have you seen that Hunter was crossed off his list? Or, are you just going to back off on that, and admit that it's just guessing or supposition on your part?
Sure, Fred has taken players with a year or two of eligibility left. So what? He took them because they were the best players available. In this case, he still has scholarships left to give. So come on now, how do you know that he has crossed Hunter off his list? Seriously?

But basically you're saying Fred's entire recruiting strategy is crazy.
I want to see your link LOL

You're reading into my post things that aren't there, so I will ask you to stop.
If it helps, I was responding to the post above that simply said that since Fred had a commitment from Hogue, he wasn't recruiting Hunter any longer. I am sorry that you have a difficult time grasping that--since it was the point of the entire post. First I made the parallel of signing wings and still possibly recruiting another, then I added a comment meant to reflect that you can sign both a JC forward and a HS player at a similar position.
Please don't take my words out of context.

Re: Dustin Hogue commits
If Bubu is off the team and we have 3 scholarships to give to the 2013 class and zeigler is no longer a prospect why would we back off of Hunter? Okoro is a 3/2, Hogue is a 3/4 and Hunter is a 4/3. We need another 4/3 considering Ejim will be gone after the 2013-14 season.
Who said that we are not recruiting Hunter anymore? Don't just say you heard it say where you heard it or else it's not a reliable relevant source?
Also who said we aren't recruting Maurice Jones anymore. Site your source only if it's a good reliable source. Otherwise there is no point
