Why would it? One bad game doesn't change a thing. Iowa will still be a darkhorse B1G championship contender, and Iowa State will be lucky to make the NIT.
If you ask the basketball analysts outside the state of Iowa I think you would be surprised to hear their responses. Iowa was pegged as a preseason top 5 team by one ESPN analyst and is ranked in the vast, vast majority of preseason top 25 polls
Utah transfer Will Clyburn may end up being one of the more underrated transfers across the nation this season.
"Will is a kid that can hurt you from all over the floor," Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg tells the Times-Republican. "He's a guy that can facilitate the offense, you can post him up against smaller players, and you can put the ball in his hands in different isolation situations."
At 6-foot-7, 210-pounds, Clyburn led the Utes in scoring (17.1 ppg) and rebounding (7.8 rpg) in his one season in Salt Lake City before joining the Iowa State program. Also a perimeter threat -- he shot 40.3 percent from three-point range as a junior -- Clyburn will help the Cyclones make up for the loss of Royce White. The current Houston Rockets forward led ISU in all five main statistical categories last season.
