Playing in front of 7k in a 14k arena is better than ISU having to play at Drake or UNI.

And I bet there will be 10,000 minimum for each game.
I'm going with a large group and we are going to both games. Other people I've talked to that are going have said the same thing.

Does anyone know if they are serving beer for the games?

Re: Big four basketball classic
I'd have to lose a pretty big bet to pay to watch Iowa and UNI play basketball surrounded by Iowa and UNI fans.

And this is a terrible concept. If they cleared out the arena and did games at say 1pm and 5pm I'd change my stance, but as it stands, this is a terrible format.

It isnt perfect, but it should be a good time. Im sure they will get flooded with comlaints after its over and hopefully adjust for the following season.

I too put in a request with my season tickets and have no clue if my order was fulfilled or not.

Re: Big four basketball classic
i think the environment might be kind of cool/different. ISU, UNI, and Drake will all be rooting against Iowa and Iowa/UNI/Drake will all be rooting against ISU.

I went to the NCAA tournament a couple years ago, stayed all day watching 8 teams I didn't give a **** about. It was fun. If you're paying for both games, might as well get your moneys worth.

Re: Big four basketball classic
My bet is this doesn't last long but will be part of the transition to either not playing or only playing in Ames/Iowa city (how it should be, IMO) Doing this for a few years allows that to happen without as much uproar from some quarters.

The NCAA tournament is...the NCAA tournament.
But my real questions is, do you have to pay for both games?

But my real questions is, do you have to pay for both games? I don't see the comparison to the NCAA tournament, either. In the very loose sense, sure, you're paying for a whole session. On the real side, that whole session is filled with games that really matter and the drama of someone's season coming to an end. This is just 4 teams in November.
