I just went on youtube and watched Edozie's video and he looks really big, but has no shot whatsover. He will just be a banger for us IMO.... which is fine, as long as he knows that's his job.

We could always use a big bruiser that gets tons of rebounds and garbage putbacks and is an enforcer on defense. He just looks VERY limited with his ball skills and shooting ability.

The thing is that I heard that the U of M pulled his scholly after watching him at a tourney. That's something that doesn't happen very often and Minnesota doesn't exactly recruit top 30 players every year. The other thing is that he's not averaging great numbers in JUCO. Plus U of M was his only d1 offer. McGee was a juco All-American and he's didn't make any big 12 team last year. McGee is a very good bench player and will play a VERY critical role this year. I'd bet he's a lot better that this guy based off stats and scholarship offers. But like you said we're not talent scouts so we could be wrong. You can't blame the dude for raising an eyebrow though. Maurice Jones, however, is a great pick up with leadership at the guard role that we need next year in big 12 play.

CW tell me.. Why do we settle for sub-par/unproven post players. If it wasn't for Coach TJ, and Coach Corn we would be in a world of ****! Seriously, the only post player Coach Hoiberg had done any active recruit work with was Georges Niang (which I believe was a great addition), but it is just perplexing as to why he hasn't nabbed any other post player from the high school ranks. Aside from Niang, the only post player he had the lead recruit on coming out of high school was Eric McKnight...and we all know how well that worked for us!!

I'll be frank, Edozie is nothing but a physical banger, that has very little athleticism, nor does he have a shot!
I realize that we need a strong physical presence, I get that...but couldn't we find someone with more elements to their game than just is inserted at the end of the end of the game to just hack people. First we heard about Reader from Southern Utah, which seem to be the same type of player and now Edozie. Unbelievable!

Eric McKnight...and we all know how well that worked for us!!

McKnight was a McDermott last minute recruit that Hoiberg honored a 1-year scholarship. I'm sorry but your post is ridiculous.

Great signing.

Horrible rule that this kid has to sit out early NC games next year. Guys are getting hardships left and plenty play right away with the graduate immediate transfer eligibility rule its a shame he has to miss a dozen games. I guess the silver lining is that he will be replacing a distributor in Luscious and is a scorer so easing him in midseason might work out OK.

Nate Rob comparison earlier in the thread is a good one. Nate Rob could have played in the NFL though don't think he is that physical I'd go for a mixture of a player inbetween Nate Rob and Erving Walker from Florida.

Very very smart move by Hoiberg. This year he picks up a top 10 distributor in Korie. Next year he picks up a guy who can make his team play as fast as any. Excellent ways to improve a team that does not have/play around a traditional center.
