Have at it.
Have at it.
Too many TO's and lack of effort on the boards.
For 32 minutes, we were fun to watch.
Without those 8 minutes of really sloppy play we mighta hit 120
Minus the lack of effort at times and some stupid turnovers, I saw a lot of good stuff. Freshman are very impressive.
Good---- a) Niang is going to be a star. Would not be surprised to see him starting by conference, and maybe even some games earlier in the season, depending on match-ups.
b) Like the looks of Korie. Was surprised at his 3 point shooting. I hope he can keep that up. A few too many turnovers, and tried to force things sometimes, but I think he will get over that.
c) It would appear that Long will be more than an adequate back-up at point. Love his ability to drive to the basket.
d) When Babb gets back, I think the defense of ISU's guards, in particular Babb, McGee, Lucious and Long will drive some other teams nuts. Seem to be very pesky.
e) Seems everyone can shoot the 3. Not that they should, but it seems that they can.
f) Despite the apparent mental lapse of about 20 minutes in the middle of the game, it was impressive how they did turn it on to build a huge lead again.
g) This appears to be a very athletic team. Has the potential to be a very fast playing team, and depth is good enough they may be able to wear some teams out.
Bad----- a) Rebounding is still a concern I think. Really still do not box out very well on the defensive end. Far too many offensive rebounds (18) and second chances given to the other team.
b) The prolonged mental lapse and lack of enthusiasm. Can't have those that last that long. Some teams will bury ISU if that happens.
c) Would have liked to have seen more of Okoro.
d) I think Will is going to be good, but somehow they need to design some plays that get him more open or something. Minnesota State seemed to do a pretty good job of containing him.
Not bad for the first game, and an exibition game. A lot of progress is going to have to be made though before they play out in Vegas.
This group is miles ahead of last years bunch at the same time. That does not mean they will finish better. Can't wait to find out.
I was dissappointed in the lack of penetration. I liked that Korie hit some three's, but I really want to see him (and think we will need him to) get into the lane with some regularity.
rebounding was a bit messy. We tipped a lot of balls, but could get a firm handle on the ball. That drives me crazy.
Naz and Georges look GOOD. Niang right from the start, and Naz seemed to really get comfortable in the 2nd half. They are goin to be playmakers. Georges offers more than just scoring - he rebounds, tips passes and generally hustles ans is in the right place at the right time. His "bball IQ" was on display right from the start. SDW looks to have some great potential - I love that he's aggressive. Okoro even looked ok in the few minutes he played (rebs, a good block/ foul, and made free throws).
Clyburn looked lost. I'm not worried though.
Basketball. Basketball! Basketball. Basketball! Basketball. Basketball! Did I mention basketball?
What was the final score?
Anyone know how long until the game replay will be up on cyclones.tv?
If it makes anyone feel better Minnesota who is projected to be a tournament team only beat them 81-56. We looked bad at times but overall I'm happy. I still think we are a tournament team. Clyburn had a bad game and still had 9 points. Once he gets going this team will be even better.
Who cares about how they played, did the uniforms look good?!?
I believe that we're a tournament team. I thought so going in, and I think so now.
So glad to see basketball, and we can see our Doria-tree through the window at the Walking Taco stand nearest section 216!
1. Great game (even with the time of being lazy)
2. Great walking taco! And being able to see the Doria-tree without going into the cold. :P
3. I think remembering the new numbers-names will be easy
The only bad thing I'll say is concessions...why didn't they have a refill line today and more open? I think they underestimated the number of people that showed up today
