Yep. There was a stretch where we went on about 3 straight fast breaks and he was GASSED. He basically just walked to half court and when the ball went the other way. After the timeout he just collapsed in a chair.
Just imagine what kind of player he can be when he gets in shape and turns that baby fat into muscle.
We asked for sweating, and I'm assuming we're getting it!
if it's that much of a difference, and we don't have back-up in case of foul trouble/injury, then that's a cause for concern.
There just aren't many guys like Babb out there. Long looks like he might be able to develop into a pretty good defender.
I'm a little worried about Clyburn as a defensive liability, though. His feet looked very slow on defense. Hopefully it was just a bad game defensively for him and not a true indicator of things to come.
Korie had me thinking Chris Allen all over again. May be a reason they didn't finish their college careers under Izzo. That said, I think Fred can still get the best out of him. That's what games in November and even December are for. Getting your act together before conference. Just don't over schedule too many upper echelon teams.
Long and Niang make me smile. They look like quality guys that can really develop under CFH. I think Long's presence will be good to keep Korie under control.
I look for Tyrus McGee to challenge for the sixth man award. He is high energy and can come in when the team needs ht spark. Clyburn's season could be the difference in getting a bye at the Bis 12 tournament.
Coaches like FH and BF don't have the luxury of a bevy of Top 25 recruits so they essentially have to mold a team to get the best out of their players each year. This takes time to develop, and I am sure neither of them knows exactly how that will evolve at this point.
