IF you were worried during our game
Take a look at how some other teams did on their opener. OSU and UT barely won their games. I think this team just needs time to gell together. Missing Babb doesn't help with that either. Our free throws were bad and Korie couldn't hit ANYTHING. That wont be the case most of the time.

Re: IF you were worried during our game
I think #25 Florida State lost their first game.
Edit- they lost to South Alabama

Re: IF you were worried during our game
You put Babb back in the lineup and Beltran scores 16 instead of 26 and we're never down by more than 4 in the first half.
Also you see this all the time at the start of the year. It's not like we were as good as the fans hoped last year to start and they finished just fine

Re: IF you were worried during our game
Ask Purdue and Michigan State how their opening night went as well.

Re: IF you were worried during our game
I wasn't worried about winning the game, just infuriated by Lucious' boneheaded plays. I was damn near ready to play "punt the dog" at halftime.

Re: IF you were worried during our game
I was fairly vocal last night after the game. I think we played well in a lot of areas.
Destroyed them on the glass
Wore them down in the 2nd half
Gibson looks very improved
A light (not sure if it was "the" light yet) seemed to come on for Clyburn
Naz Long...I'm really impressed with kid
Niang...boy, he good
There was a time in the first half where Georges inbound to Naz...it made me smile
Ejim was Ejim. I think we know what he's going to do.
Korie Lucious...after about 3 minutes of play, I wanted to see his *** on the bench. He just thinks he's better than he is. If he can figure out his role, I like where this team is heading.

Re: IF you were worried during our game
So wouid you rather that a team be as good as they're going to be in game #1 or game thirty-something?

Well....To be honest they were getting a lot of weak calls where we got a lot of no calls. They were "worn down" because they were all in foul trouble.

As crappy as we played, if both teams shoot 60-80% from the line the game would have been comfortable the whole way. ISU hitting sub 50% and Southern hitting 11 for their first 11 is the main reason the game was close in the first half even with a poor performance. In the second half we hit our free throws and they were never able to make a run because of that.

Re: IF you were worried during our game
Really no flow to the first half. Fred was using a lot of combinations. Half time adjustments, guys getting comfortable (save Korey) and it was a different game. I'm not worried.
We had Long and McGee on Baltran the second half and they pretty much shut him down.
