The best sign? 12K+ announced attendance for Alabama AnM.
ALABAMA ANM!!!
The second best sign? We were 16-2 at home last year, so clearly the Magic is back.

I would be love to have "stumbles" like this year's class.

The Magic doesn't get involved with Alabama A&M. If it does, things are not going well.
It's not Magic when we kick the pigsnot out of some terrible team.
Re: Positive signs program is on the rise
Farnsworth is the winner of this thread!
Re: Positive signs program is on the rise
I think it's a great point. I really think this has 9 guys who are Big 12 quality starters. I'm not sure if the star is there this year but Iowa State has had very few teams through the years that have been this deep.
Re: Positive signs program is on the rise
It won't get it done in the B12. Need more than 2 quality players.

I did not realize:
a.) that the entire roster turns over every year. I thought we could combined "quality players" from multiple classes, but if this is not true, you may have a point.
b.) that we will only be adding two quality players. We have had plenty of previous quality players that were unheralded recruits.
c.) that we are done recruiting. Seems like you are forgetting recruiting has changed. In fact, many of our best players on each of Fred's first three rosters were picked up after the early signing period. There will be "quality players" available in the spring/summer, and room at ISU if needed.
If ISU gets the 25th ranked class every year, we will have success not yet seen at ISU.
Re: Positive signs program is on the rise
This won't be a top 25 class. Assuming Edizie signs, that is. We've whiffed on a lean group of bigs. It happens but next year needs to be better. I think it will be but the rest of theBig 12 isn't messing around.
Re: Positive signs program is on the rise
Whole-heartedly agree. And now news of Edozie! smh...

Re: Positive signs program is on the rise
I know I am going to get some static from fanatics. Whatever it be... HORRIBLE recruitment of big men for 2013 & 2014 classes, aside from Hoiberg's recruitment of 2014 Abu, which I don't think we stand a snowballs chance in **** getting.
Re: Positive signs program is on the rise
Yeah, as it appears, we missed on 2013 bigs. However, mjhavlo76, don't you think it's a little early to bag on the 2014 class?

It's not nearly as bad as the 2017 class.

It will not go down due to Edizie signing, it will go down due to the undeclared ranked players going elsewhere.
Again, a class like this every year will lead to success not seen at ISU. 2 top 100 guys (1 being a top-50) in every class, surrounded by the proper role players will have ISU competing for deep NCAA tournament runs.
Then there is the other glaring fallacy of your posts- assuming we are done recruiting. Jones could be considered in this class, but non-high school recruits are often not considered quality recruits by old timers.
Re: Positive signs program is on the rise
I know it won't go down because of Edozie but if we sign him that means were not finding someone that will help boost the ranking. The 3 jucos that we look to be signing are frankly underwhelming. It's not because the staff isn't trying. I hope nobody thinks I believe that. This isn't the type of class that leads to Big 12 titles. I'm quite confident that we'll be fine. It's only one class and it certainly isn't a bad class by any stretch. It just doesn't keep up with the Joneses.

I agree with everything you've been saying but there is the possibility that one of those JUCOs could turn out to be a Gilstrap type player who is actually much better than where they are ranked. It happens more often with big men too which helps our chances.
