This may be true but I'm not willing to just buy into unnamed sources being completely correct.

It's not fair for Royce to try to relate his work to the average Joe. I know he wants his own doctor, but kind of like the Army, they "bought" his body. If he blows a knee out, they get him to their doc, etc.

For you college kids, see what happens when you land a killer job at a business...then the day after all your HR stuff goes through, don't show up to work and say from home you have anxiety about driving to work.

Please note, I myself have anxiety, so this wasn't meant as a dig.

Good luck to Royce and his music career, as it appears his basketball career may never even get started. What a shame and a waste of talent.

I just want to know if this is truly about him or anxiety. If it is anxiety I am on his side, but if it is about him and playing time I am on the Rockets side.

Re: Royce, if you're on here, plese read this

What bothers me too is that Royce is acting like he was a lottery pick or something. He wasn't. Hell, he wasn't even Houston's first pick......Lamb was, and then they traded him away. This is not high school or even college where he was "the man" so to speak. This is the pros....there are lots of good players. I just don't see the Rockets putting up with this nonsense much longer. I'm not sure what they can do other than walk away. They certainly will not be able to trade him at this point. Who the hell would want him? I'm sure some of the other GM's are having a good laugh at the Rocket's expense.

As far as having his own doctor, apparently he needs to read and understand an NBA contract. First of all your doctor has to be approved by the team, which apparently it hasn't. Also, if you don't show up for practice or miss games because of a medical condition, then the team has the right to have you see their doctor. He does not seem to realize he is an investment for the Rockets. He may not like that, but that is what he is.

Is it just me or should a professional athlete be trying to improve their damn skills during the season, or sit on twitter all day & night and make a big deal out of something?

Re: Royce, if you're on here, plese read this

I was REALLY hoping Royce was going to go down to Houston and prove everyone, including the Rockets most of all, that they didn't make a mistake on taking him in the first round.

Speculation on draft night was that teams were really shying away from taking Royce and were actually scared to take him because of his condition. The Rockets took a HUGE chance on him and put their trust in him.

I wanted nothing more than for Royce to go down there and rub it in the faces of all the other teams that were doubting him and to reward the Rockets for their trust in him.

But instead, Royce is going to prove that all the other teams that were scared to take him were dead on and that the Rockets were the idiots for taking a chance on him. Sad. It didn't have to be like this Royce.

Lets remember the good year he had and the contributions he made. Athletes fail at every level, sometimes they make come backs too. I hope Royce will be able to make his some day, today he appears far from seeing the floor in the NBA.

He needs to stop it is making me start to change my opinion about his demeanor and dignity. The NBA is a business and they want a return on their investments that is just how it is. In doing so these cry baby players live the life with all the money they could ever want, not all are cry babies but a lot of them are. Its demanding because of the money and College is becoming the same thing paying these coaches a stupid amount of money.

Do not get it, do your job and get paid very well, whats the ******* problem here?

    This x 1000.

I was hoping he would show up, work hard, perform and be the game-changing talent that was worthy of a lottery pick. He could then use the notoriety from becoming an up-and-coming NBA star to bring awareness to anxiety and mental disorders, while showing that people with those conditions can excel and perform with those who do not have them.

Instead, he's missing practices, games, is now in the D-League, and is more known for his Twitter account and "unfair treatment" by his employer instead of the pure talent he has for the game of basketball.

Royce, if you are reading this, please, please, please deactivate your Twitter and focus on basketball and your illness in private. Become the star you were here at Iowa State and take the NBA by storm.

Rule of thumb - if you ever have a conversation, group of posting, whatever and over a dozen times you say "last thing", "finally", etc. you've probably gone off the deep end.
