Guy went off in this game from long distance, and I think we need to prevent him from doing the same against us.

None of the teams in Las Vegas have a loss yet.....so it is going to be a very good test. Cincy looks to be a very good shooting team (which they haven't been in recent years) and a good rebounding team. Of course, like ISU, that could just be the result of the competition they have faced so far.
I think this is a great tourney for ISU. It will really test this team against good competition and in a tough venue in Thomas and Mack.. Vegas turns out for the UNLV games, and there should be good crowds for all of these games.

I would be willing to bet that the Cyclones would slaughter North Carolina A&T with McBeth, Ellerman, Okoro, Law, and Fowler exclusively!! Originally Posted by chuckd4735 I think that score speaks more to how bad NC A&T is then how good Cincinnati is. -

Only place you can look out into the crowd and see tons of people pulling their hair out over missed FTs late in a 20 pt game. Its like bulls fans booing missed FTs with 99 points, because they want their free Big Mac. Except these guys have a lot more than a sandwich riding on it.

Anyone see that we lost votes in the Coaches' Poll today (all of 'em, in fact)?

Out of UNLV or Oregon...which one do we have a better chance at...to me it seems like Oregon. Also...We dropped off for votes because we didn't have a STELLAR performance with Campbell. We only won by 20. We allowed them 68 points. I think if we Cinnci will be our first loss.

No matter how it turns out, the team that wins it will have 2 tourney resume-ish wins.

On paper, better chance vs. Oregon. Also on paper, UNLV has bigger stakes as far as resume-helper.
I am bracing for first loss vs. UC, too — if Cincy meets or surpasses preseason hype, it won't be a bad loss. By the same token, a win could be nice notch.

Just win them all!
I think the Cincy game will be a great test for this sqaud. But after seeing the first 3 games, I have to say I don't see many teams in the field this year that have as deep a bench as we do - they aren't just bodies on the floor...they are contributing at a HIGH rate to our successes. Coach will have 'em ready - just look at the difference in turnover to assist ratios we've had since game one. Babb is back on defense, and the freshmen are getting it done as well.
Gonna be a special year, and it all starts this week with our first real test.
