Re: After the first real opponent, what do you think?
I think we looked alright we are still coming together but liked what I saw. Fred is going to have those boys shooting lots of free throws. I think CL needs to sit down and watch the tape with Fred and see the dumb plays he made. Babb looked a little slow and out of sink but that will come with more games. GN looked good needs to work on hands McGee looks solid cant wait for B12 play.

Re: After the first real opponent, what do you think?
I can live with tonight. I see this year being a lot like last year, in that we will improve pretty dramatically over the course of the year. If you remember, we didn't exactly light the world on fire last year until conference play started.
I think Lucious will get much more comfortable. I think Clyburn will get more aggressive. I think Niang and Percy will get better throughout the year. Booker, Ejim, McGee and Babb are proven quantities.
I hope we trap and run a little more because our depth and balanced scoring options may be our biggest strength.

Guys played hard. Like to see that. About what I expected in this game. Didn't think we'd win, but this will help mature this team tremendously.

I think this year will be similar to last. Will take a while to get the kinks out but when they do it will be a solid team.

Now we just need to smash the next opponent

Ridiculous. Good thing the Big 12 hasn't looked the best to start off the season bc we have a long, long ways to go to become a threat
Discipline is waay down since Greg McDermott left. Thankfully, wins are up significantly. Take the good, take the bad. -
Re: After the first real opponent, what do you think?
Not impressed with Lucious in any manner. Clyburn also looked lost and forced the ball too much.
Turnovers killed chances for a win. Too many self inflicted mistakes.

I think it's just going to take a little bit of time for Lucious to settle into his role and make better decisions.

Well if you're content with a one and one NCAA bball team at best, you got it! Freddy needs to get up and coach these guys....I mean, it's Mick Cronin we lost too!

Re: After the first real opponent, what do you think?
I think I'll get criticized for this, but I really think Bubu would have had a huge impact on this game for us. Maybe not. But Lucious has too many TO's for me. Clyburn can't seem to create his own shot and didn't finish around the rim well.
At this point in the season, I think we're a lot better than last year's team. I'm hopeful that Hoiberg will get them in shape for a good Big 12 run.

Re: After the first real opponent, what do you think?
I think we're better than I thought might be the case at this stage. I think Clyburn and Korie are pressing a bit, but will be better when they settle down. Tyrus has taken over the leadership role.

Re: After the first real opponent, what do you think?
Disappointed. Through 5 games now.....it's the same problems. Can't hit free throws. Give up too many easy buckets underneath. Point guard has way more turnovers than assists. Not a very fluid offense. If not for McGee........
This team can be good, but a lot of them have to pick it up, or they won't be good at all.

They will be fine, basketball seasons are journeys. At least our players are working up a sweat at this point of the year.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not dude?

Re: After the first real opponent, what do you think?
No issue with Korie and Will's rust. It's to be expected, not only expected but highlighted against their first real opponent.
Doug had some good points on Korie, he made some very bad PG plays but then later did the PG things he should be doing. As long as he can learn from his mistakes we'll be fine.

Re: After the first real opponent, what do you think?
I also LOVED how they came back after being down 16, love that not gonna give up mentality. The tie up/foul/possession arrow BS thing really hurt the momentum we had.
