Re: After the first real opponent, what do you think?
We had two games around 78% free throws. Two OK games, 3 unacceptable.

Re: After the first real opponent, what do you think?
I'm going to go out on a limb and say there won't be very many nights when the seniors not named McGee will shoot a combine 10-34 from the field.
People love to make snap judgement based off of one game. Just go look at the Michigan thread from last year. This thread smells a lot like that one. People need to calm down and realize we got beat by a good team tonight. It's not like they lost Southwestern Alabama Community College. Give credit to Cincy for playing some damn good defense. They will be the best defensive team we'll see all year.

Morgan followed probably the best decade of b-ball in the history of the program. McDoormat ran the program into a black hole that couldn't keep any B12 caliber players around more than a year.
We just lost to a team that returned 3 starters (10 total players) from a sweet-16 run, and runner up in the Big East tourney. They will be top 20 now or very soon. They would likely finish in the top 3-4 minimum in the B12 and very possibly top 2...... and we were in the game for the most part, despite our horrible play.

Re: After the first real opponent, what do you think?
Cincinnati looked like a really solid defensive team. We're a team with lots of new components still figuring things out. Not a good combination early in the season. I'm not worried yet.

Which PG will help us win more games? Lucious or Long? To me it is simple. Long isn't ready to lead us to wins. Lucious does enough positives right now that means he is the PG who should be on the floor.

Re: After the first real opponent, what do you think?
As pointed out by the announcers Korie played some darn good D all game. I like the fact that even with his O sucky he still played his butt off on D.

Nobody will talk about Lucious' good defense because that's not part of his narrative.

Re: After the first real opponent, what do you think?
Clyburn is not as quick as I had thought. Struggles to get to the bucket on quicker defenders.

Re: After the first real opponent, what do you think?
This team will be completely fine. They are in good hands. Everyone doubted the team last year when we took a loss in the Knapp Center. A loss on a neutral court to a ranked opponent isn't anything to worry about. KL and WC will find their groove, just takes time to shed the rust.

If you don't make free throws you don't win. Our starting five should hit 80% or better. The guards should be 85%. Or better. Fred s the perfect example.
