Re: Following all of our Signed and Committed players
So if we were to post something about, oh I don't know, Rashad Vaughn, does that mean that he will commit to us?

Like NBA players are suppose to have better numbers than non-NBA players? A center is suppose to have better stats than a guard? It is about projecting a player to fit the role you are recruiting him for.
80% of the players that are ahead of him are sophomores. The ones that aren't McKay, Kendrick or Hogue don't have Rivals or ESPN profiles. The two freshmen ahead of him also don't have Rivals or ESPN profiles. He should get more minutes, points, and rebounds than those players.
Your questions about NBA players and guards/centers proved zero points.
I guarantee you if you look at juco players that are recruited to play high level D1 the next season, 97% of them are out performing other players on their team that aren't D1 high level caliber players.

Why, because they do not have a Rivals profile? Come on, you can do better than that. You are not defending your position with logical rebuttals. What does out preformed even mean? The guards and forwards that play different positions than him are not out-performing him at his position- which is what matters. I imagine there are dozens of JuCo big men that get D1 offers that have inferior stats then their teammates at other positions, and especially when there is a JuCo AA at their position.
I figured you would not understand the comments about NBA players not putting up the same stats as non-NBA players in college, and the fact you cannot use stats of guards in comparison to stats of centers to determine the worthiness of said center. Let me provide examples to help you:
Will Blalock got drafted and played a few minutes in the NBA while Curtis Stinson and Jake Sullivan did not, yet the latter two put up better college numbers. Justin Hamilton ended up being drafted in the NBA, yet he was behind several players in scoring and rebounding while at ISU. Of course, non of those played his position.
I am not going to disagree if you watch him and think he is not good enough because he is too this, or not enough of that. But geesh man, some of your arguments based on a box score and Rivals database are nonsensical.

It's rather annoying how you are talking to me like I'm an i diot.
You can conclude that someone is not a division 1 caliber athlete based off of the fact that they do not have a division 1 profile! And Stats do not lie. They tell probably 85% of the story about a player. The story is that he is 9th in minutes played, 7th in scoring, and 6th in rebounding on a team with 4 known division 1 caliber players! I don't care if the players in front of him are guards or posts. If you are a top 4 player on your team you finish in the top 4 of the majority of statistical categories. Was that good enough logic for you?

No, because it assumes that you know more from stats - you've never seen him play - than Fred and his staff know from scouting. And that is just pure fail.

So you are concluding that they recruit no players that are busts?

No, I'm asserting that Fred and his staff know more about a player via scouting than you know via looking at JUCO stats.

How can anyone call a recruit a bust before they ever hit the floor in an Iowa State uniform?
Re: Following all of our Signed and Committed players
I never once said he was a bust. I said that he has underwhelming numbers for a high level division 1 prospect.

I will wait to pass judgement, but I can't say I'm confident in this class outside of MM and MT
Re: Following all of our Signed and Committed players
Man I wish we would have gotten Kyle Washington.

Meh, sorry, I will try to express my disbelief someone could have such rational for a position without using message board jabs...I am not saying this post means you are an idiot, but the logic in this post is bad. Really bad. Is the part in bold a joke? It must be, right?

I'll rephrase for you. Stats tell 85% of the story about a player.

And 50% of stats are lies.

This statement makes zero sense.
