Surprised anyone watched. I was told after Las Vegas last week that the season was over, we sucked, and not only were we not going to make the Tournament but we probably weren't even going to win another game this season - considering the general consensus this week was it was time to whizz our pants over Florida-Gulf Coast.

I disagree with this, the refs took Booker out of the game. They later made it hard on Niang also. It was like they were determined to give BYU the inside. BYU constantly pushed on the offensive glass. Generally we played well, but often allowed them inside shots. If we would have played better interior defense, we would have completely demolished this team. I was not impressed with BYU except their ability to play above the rules. I imagine that won't be the last time we see that this year.

Let me amend the comment slightly.....Booker couldn't handle him without fouling him, which he couldn't. Sometimes players have to learn how to play the refs too....especially when you are guarding a player who everyone knows has a habit of getting to the line.

Did you watch the game? Two of those "fouls" were phantom fouls.

At least two, I would have to watch it again, but the first part of the game was ridiculous, and Booker took the brunt of that.

Here's what stood out to me today:

REALLY pleased with the way KL played today. Still made a few silly TOs (the whole team did), but overall, MUCH better. IMO, we need 7 -12 pts a game from Korie, and more assists than turnovers. He didn't jack early shots, and he moved the ball. Created turnovers guarding the ball too, and hustled to keep some of his turnovers from becoming fastbreak baskets for BYU.

    Niang struggled a bit today.

Also really liked the way Gibson hit the boards. I still saw him just watch a few shots go up without body-ing somebody, but 7 rebounds is a nice improvement from his usual 2 or 3. Now to work on passing...

McGee - the usual energy and junkyard dog play.

    Babb was awesome on Haws.

I very much dislike that chippy, whiny little team of toads. Glad we crushed them, glad they're gone. That's one team I don't have to waste any time cheering for this year.

    Re: ***BYU Postgame***

That was just an all-around fun game to watch, lots of pent-up energy let loose I think. CFH needs to have the bigs work on passing out of double teams, that was the big negative I took from this game. Not trying to be a Debby Downer, but everyone's already listed the multiple positives.

Where were their tattoos? I don't have a tattoo on my body, but I would have loved to see a tattoo on one of those BYU players today. Did my eyesight fail me, I never really looked hard, but the thought occurred to me afterwards. Those players needed some coffee, and a tattoo.

I didn't realize BYU let the guy who got his "freak on" back on the team.

Okay, letting it go. Flashes of brilliance, moments of frustration, but overall a very good win!

    Re: ***BYU Postgame***

Their offense consisted of two main plays:

    1) Guard pass it inside to Davies. Davies throws the ball in the general direction of the basket, gets bailed out by the refs.
    2) Guard dribbles twice into traffic. Guard throws up a well defended and off-balance prayer and the Good Lord answers.
