Mmmmmm, cupcake. There was a thread started last week about this being a possible trap game. Still laughing about it this morning.

The one stat that stood out to me about FGSU was that they are averaging just under 10 steals per game. One of their guards (Thompson) has 29 steals. That tells me they have a very pesky group of guards.....so ISU's guards are really going to have to be careful with their ball-handling and passing.
This does not look like a bad team. They did beat Miami, but that was at FGSU's gym, and they had a record crowd that night (4552) so the place was probably going nuts. The good news is they have not fared very well on the road (1-3). They lost to VCU, Duke, and St. John's on the road.
This could be a trap game if ISU is looking ahead too much to Friday. I don't think ISU will have a lot of trouble with them, but sometimes ISU has not protected the ball as well as they should, and that could make the game interesting.

They have the two pretty good guards, Sherwood Brown (6'4" 200#) and Bernard Thompson (6'3" 170#). Both are averaging 15 ppg. Both shoot a good number of 3s (Thompson at 44% for the year) and free throws. Other than that it doesn't seem like that have much. Stat-wise, Eric McKnight is their next best player. he's also their biggest listed player (who plays) at 6'9" 210#. We should have success inside, we aren't going to get pushed around at least.
I thought it was funny that they have a freshman who doesn't play who is listed at 6'10" and 180#. Hope it's not windy out today, they may never find him.

Need to jump out on this team quick tonight. This game scares me just a bit. If we get up early then I don't think we will have a problem...but if we let them stick around then it may not end well.

Here are my predictions:
Halftime score
ISU 53
FGC 21
final score
ISU 89
FGC 52
ISU balcony fans will pile into the the walkway at the final 4:00 minute time out forcing the attendants to stress out about clearing the lane for flag guy.
Babb will continue to struggle shooting 3s.
McGee will continue to prove that he should be starting over Babb.
At least 1 FGC player will foul out.
Clyburn has another outstanding game...27 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocks
Ellerman scores 1 basket!
Niang is impressive with 16 points.
ISU outscores FGC in the paint by 30
ISU outrebounds FGC by 21
I get several of my predictions wrong.
The popcorn has too much salt.
The clone cones are a disappointing 10 inches after getting 18 inches a couple weeks ago (that's what she said).
ISU fans start chanting, "just like football"...wait, that won't be until Friday.
