If you want to be compared to teams in your conference see my post above. Lets hear why you'll contend in conference play and what about tonights game reinforces that? Feel free to list Big Ten teams you are better than. You can use the 9 point win over an ISU team who was clearly a class below UNLV and Cincinatti in their early neutral court contests as evidence.
Purdue- Smacked the Clemson team who housed you (again) around. On the road.
NW- Just beat the team that ended UK's win streak in their barn.
Illini-Very good start despite people being down on them
MSU-Same team as always hawkeyes don't deserve to be mentioned as competition to them.
Michigan/OSU/Indy- nothing to say
Minny-tons of talent managed to put a good FSU team in their place
Wiscy- they would not lose to Iowa they just played real teams early on unlike Iowa who couldn't beat a Wichita St team with all new faces
Don't worry Rutgers is coming soon you'll have a conference team to look down on... -

And rumor has it Jok is looking like his old self again, and his outside shot supposedly looks fantastic! Add in that transfer kid from Wisconsin who also is supposed to be able to knock down the 3, and it just seems like they are going to be a very solid team for the next 3 years at a minimum! Why? There is a reason why Morris and Jones are coming in next year, and its to fix a glaring hole at the 1. They can both be better than Gessel right out of the gate. Thats the brilliance of BB. Thomas will be the best shooter on the court next year, no questions asked. And the two best scorers in the low block tonight were Gibson and Niang. Both will be around next year. ISU could win by 20.

Re: Iowa is going to be tough for the next few years
At best, Iowa is an NCAA bubble team. But I think they are headed back to the NIT. They just cant shoot from the outside good enough to be consistent in a loaded Big Ten. At best they are likely 7th in the Big Ten. But they are playing a much more palatable brand of basketball than Iowa has seen the last six years, so I'll take the progress.
The refs were too ticky tacky early in this game. ISU picked up some cheap fouls IMO.
That said, I was at a loss for what ISU was trying to do offensively...it was either chuck threes or isolation plays.

Morris >> Gessel ?#?@? I hope you're right, because our PG for the last two years has been frustrating. But that starting 5 for Iowa all returns to Hilton next year and our veteran team got out played by a team with 3 frosh.

In Hoibergs 3 years we have had good play from the 1 once. And there was no one else on that team. When is Custer going to get here?

Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Didn't fran just basically steal tom Davis' playbook? That's what it looked, like to me.

You may have noticed, but maybe not, that Clemmons, unheralded as he is, outplayed Gessel tonight right? Gessel and Woodbury were not the reason Iowa won. White and Clemmons were.

Dude, I'm a fan of the team you apparantly think won't get any better next year while ISU improves at every position. I was mocking the ridiculousness of your post.

It was pretty much our offense last year to start year, until we figured out that our best PG was a 6'8" 270lbs NBA draft pick.
I don't see anyone on our roster that can do that however.
Our saving grace might be the fact that the B12 is probably no better than the MVC this year.

And I do remember Iowa State living off the three ball last year from a certian goofy looking white guy.....what was his name? Christiansen or something like that. He was as goofy looking as Gessell.
