What's our Big 12 record going to have to be to make NCAA Tourney?

With as weak as the Big 12 is we are going to have to get at least 15 wins in conference to be considered. Wish we were in a good conference.

We don't have any bad losses on the resume. As long as it stays that way we are dancing. We will go 7-2 at home and 3-6 on the road for the bubble or 4-5 on the road for a secured spot.

I dont know what our record needs to be but we have to finish at least in the top half of the big 12 to have any chance at "The Big Dance".

Assuming ISU loses no more in the non-conference, it will take a minimum of 10 wins in the Big 12 before the conference tourney just to get on the bubble because the Big 12 is down this year. Ten Big 12 wins will still only be 20-11. If that is what it is, ISU may have to win the conference tourney to get in.

Assuming ISU doesn't lose anymore non-conference games, I still think 10 conference wins plus 1 in the Big 12 tourney will be enough. People are rushing to judgement about the Big 12 being down. Yes, it's down but it's not like the Pac 12 in recent years. It will still be a 4 bid league at minimum. Probably 5 bids depending on who that 5th team is. The fact ISU made the tourney last year and represented well will help.

Usually anyone with rpi below 36 is in trouble because little schools get automatic bids. That said we have four teams ranked higher than rpi 36: KU, OSU, Baylor, KSU. Looks like we have some work to do - we need to beat each of those four teams to move up.

Minimum of 10 games imo. Basically, sweep TCU, TTech & WVU. Sweep either OU or UT. Split the other along with KU, OSU, BU & KSU. Maybe get swept by 1 or 2 of them. We could be anywhere from an 8-13 win team depending on how the breaks go and if our team decides to play all 40 minutes.

Texas went 0-7 against Baylor, Mizzou, and Kansas last year and finished 9-9 with one win in the conference tourney. Their "notable" non-conference wins were Temple and UCLA. They got in. Based on those facts, 10 wins and a conference tourney win should do it.
