I don't know. You tell us.

I don’t care where you come from, whether it’s Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I don’t care about any of that… But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads

I guess we can go with "frolicking on the court", if that makes things better for you.

    What would you call it?

Holding hands? Skipping through the woods? Frolicking? Square Dancing? Doing the Limbo?

If someone can post a video of the court getting stormed I will gladly admitt I'm wrong not a photo of a hundred fans on the baseline to the free throw line of the court

    Re: Rivalry Games

Maybe having a couple of players from the state would help with the rivalry. The problem is...the state of Iowa just does not produce that many Division I prospects that can compete in a BCS basketball conference, although in the last few years, it does seem like there are more of them.

I really don't think that should make that big of a difference though. A rival is a rival. Once you have been at ISU going into your second year...you have to know how big the game (any game, any sport) is with Iowa. Hell......Kidd off the WBB team picked up on the rivalry by going to the wrestling meet at Iowa City. Now, the women had a tough time too, but she understood the rivalry right away. Plus, ISU has a coach who most certainly understands it. If any of his players don't.....then maybe he needs to emphasize it again.

The team was flat last night.....but I really don't think it had anything to do with where they are from. Yes, Iowa has
8 players from Iowa, but only 2 played significant minutes. On the women's side.....Iowa has 3 players from Iowa, ISU has six.......so how does the theory work there?

The players have to understand the rivalry. There is no way Booker, Gibson, Ejim or any of the others cannot understand it.

It may be overrated, but in the end it is still a rivalry. It's a great game for the state of Iowa. I personally do wish we had some Iowa guys on our team. While we certainly can't have just Iowa guys on our team, I think instate players create more of a connection with the fans. Personally as a fan I always like to see a couple Jake Knott's on a team. Iowa guys nobody wanted but end up being studs.

In football we have ton's of players from the state of Iowa who mark the Iowa game on their calendars because it means something to them. Last night it looked like it was just another OOC game for our guys.

Now I know the state of Iowa isn't the best place to get basketball talent but it's still nice to have someone that has that hate for Iowa like the people who live in this state (Like Bubu, who had a very nice game vs them last year).
Bubu has been the only player from Iowa in the last 4 years to play significant minutes. And he didn't play until last year. It's not a huge deal to have guys from Iowa.
