Not disagreeing with you but CPR had never been a head coach either. Doesnt make TTU more comfortable but a successful coordinator at BCS level can transition into HC role and be successful, just has to be the right guy.
Rhoads had been a DC for 9 years and a coach in Division 1 FBS since 1995. Kliff was an assistant at Houston from 2008-2009. Co-OC from 2010-2011. He just finished his first season as the full time OC. I would think he would have a terrible time trying to get guys to come work for him at 33 years old and only one full year calling the shots on his own.
I hate to admit this, but I liked the way Fran had his team playing on both ens of the floor. It's a rivalry again. I agree that Korie and Will need to step up. Not bad mouthing them as they sat out a year and this is a work in progress so it is to be expected. We need to develop a team identity of toughness and hustle, a la Tyrus McGee.
Days of Thunder is a great Movie. My analogy would have been teen wolf. A team coming to grips of its identity as a beast, then dunking like a mad wolf.
Tommy is still on his way back to the SEC. Tech should hire Kingsbury. Big 12 has great Coaches. Such a tough time to be Coaching in this league.
Never play poker with a guy with the same name as a city.
I can't imagine Iowa playing better than they did Friday night. Their fans were really into it too, more than I have seen in years. You could tell they were tired of us beating their butts in both bball and football over and over again. As good as they played, however, we were still in the game and we played terrible. I think that points to our potential if we get it together. Against UNO it looked like we made some positive improvements. We need to just keep building on them.
