NCAA Power Rankings (BPI)
BPI - Dec. 20 College Basketball Power Index Rankings - ESPN
Has us at #25. Combines SOS, injured/missing players, home/away, and record. Good to see us at least in the top 68 (for the tourney) let alone top 25! Our SOS is at 40 which will help us a lot come tournament time. 10-3 non-con (assuming we beat Yale in Hilton), and then win 10 games in conference to be 20-11 and I think we can get in. Honestly think we can win 10+ games in conference, will benefit from a weaker Big 12.

We must win 11 including the tournament. We have been terrible in the tournament, so hope that we win 11 before the KCfest.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

BPI means as much as KenPom when it comes to Selection Sunday.

What does blood pressure have to do with college basketball?

We're going to win out... so it doesn't really matter.

We can win 11 by winning all but one at home and beating the three teams brought up on the road. No guarantees. I think this team will perform a lot like Johnny Orr teams. Looking to score, but playing minimal defense. Good for the home record, bad on the road. WVU is no gimme given the way this team has traveled so far.

It's a nice number to have, but might be misleading. I don't think we're a bad team by any means, and the only game I've seen on TV so far was against Iowa, but we certainly didn't look like the 25th best team in the country that night by any criteria.

Re: NCAA Power Rankings (BPI)
does this mean we get the little "25" next to our name on the tv scoreboard? thats all that really matters.

Crap, people need to start telling these experts that this team isn't any good and will win a max of 4 games in the Big XII.

Re: NCAA Power Rankings (BPI)
This is a message board, folks. This is the type of information that is constantly posted. Some find it interesting, some don't. We ALL know it doesn't have anything to do with the selection process. It's just interesting (in my opinion). Why do some feel the need to point out this poll means nothing? It is something to discuss, an outside perspective of the team we have a difficult time looking at objectively.
I don't bring my own opinions, just attack others.
