Is he supposed to take specific meds? Travel a certain way? Have a certain type of music played in the locker room before games? Have his security blanket cleaned and within arm's reach, even on the bench? What?
The fact that he never, ever specifies exactly what the Rockets are not allowing, or not doing makes me think it is all just b.s. on his part. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people out there who sympathize with him, probably only becasue he comes across as this martyr struggling against "the man". What hogwash! Exactly, but it's unclear whether the Rockets need to allow the accommodations he is asking for without a court ruling so I'm guessing that's why he is so vague. Common workplace accommodations for mental health problems include schedule modifications, individualized training courses, changes in how instructions and feedback are given, extra time off a lunch, reassignment of marginal tasks to other workers, or reassignment to vacant positions, but they don't really apply to Royce.
I'm guessing that he's asking for:
- Relief from early morning meetings, practices, and workouts due to insomnia
- Flexibility to drive or miss games when the anxiety acts up.
- Ability to keep kittens on the bench with him

Anybody else think he is probably hurting the anxiety community more than helping it at this point?

I don't how he could be doing anything but hurting the anxiety community.

I understand how anxiety can ruin people, it runs rampant in my family. However, RW's "anxiety" is a blown out of proportion condition that is ruining any credibility he thinks he has to talk about it. Maybe it is because he had no intention of ever playing in the NBA he just wanted the NBA contract? I'm sure he does have bad anxiety, but you are right, he is just using it as an excuse to not play basketball at this point. The question is why won't he play?

I mean he's RW! Who wouldn't want to hang out or go home with him!?...at least that's the impression he gave me.

He wants it to be his way or no way....and is not mature or experienced enough to realize that is not how the real world works.

I remember an article in the ISD talking about his anxiety and Chris Babb saying he used to stay in with him and play video games on a Friday/Saturday night. He might have went out and partied all the time. I can tell you from when I turned 21 last January to April I never saw it him at a bar. I would see other team members, but never him.

Re: Royce refuses to play in D League
Just when you don't think it could get any worse for Royce, he gets suspended by the Rockets.. which he rightfully deserved. He went from playing Kentucky in March, to being drafted in the 1st round in June, and ever since then, he hasn't done much except digging himself in a bigger hole every day. What a shame
