That's the point I was making. Communicate, make it clear that you're making an effort, do what you can, and things can work out.
Calling out your employer in public while you refuse to show up for work doesn't work as well

I have been a huge supporter of Royce through and through. My view of him is gradually changing. I understand he wants to do what is best for his health but this cannot be good for it. It has to be causing so much stress which has to be making things worse. The thing that bugs me though is him sitting on twitter all day claiming to be an advocate. I am done listening to it. I suffer from panic disorder and it is just as hard as anxiety, if not more difficult since my attacks will come out of the blue instead of building up gradually and causing a panic attack. I played basketball in high school for an entire year when my panic attacks were provoked by being on a basketball court. He apparently has one thing that is causing his anxiety and he cannot figure out a way around it? Oh wait, he did? You say he can take a bus? I have one word for this now...COWARD.
I have said in the past I liked the way he is handling things as well. I do not agree with how he is doing it any longer. I personally do not believe Royce has a solid understanding as to what anxiety truly is. He understands the concepts of what he going to hurt him when he researches it, but not what is going to help. I believe he looks at things too negatively and just keeps building on what he is doing. Notice when he got to Ames he only had anxiety, but now he has 2 or 3 disorders. I know the disorders are very related but he just adds more to it to make it looks like things are worse than they are.
Rockets board is saying he's being shopped around for a couple hundred throusand dollars. He's gone
A Letter To Royce White | Hardwood Paroxysm
He is a loser..... A huge loser.
he just doesn't understand that all parties need to make sacrifices. It seems like he is clinging on to the coat tails of mental health and trying to grab as much as he can get out of the rockets. He understands that there are millions suffering from anxiety yet thinks that it brings some sort of entitlement.
I can't even stand reading some of the crap that's been said here. He seemed to love ISU and gave us one heck of a season. Sure, in hindsight he might have been better off to have Fred groom him for a couple of more years but he did what he thought was the best for him and his family. If he is not happy in the NBA so be it. Money doesn't mean anything if you aren't happy. I think that he will be just fine. I would be much happier if he was on the team this year.
If he's not happy, don't play. I understand that. What I don't understand is why is it ok to bash your organization on Twitter. He looks like an ungrateful little *****.
He also has closed the door for any other player who wants to get drafted with a mental disorder. A "trooper" means you fight through the good times AND the bad to prove everyone that you can do something. He has only proven his critics were right about him. As of now, I never see him playing in the NBA.
I don't understand why he doesn't keep his mouth shut... but making mistakes is part of growing up. Look at what comes out of Lebron's mouth. NBA players aren't the most composed bunch it seems. They become very self centered in many cases.
If royce would have handled this correctly he'd be the poster boy for mental health advocacy. Now I'm not so sure that he hasn't actually set things back. If I have mental health issues I might be more tempted to keep my mouth shut. It's sad by all definitions.
Royce=Emiah Bingley of the NBA. "If you don.t want to do it my way, I'll just take my ball and go home."
So pretty much everyone has turned on him? Screw that, not me!!! You'll get it figured out Royce, and its going to be that much more rewarding to prove all these naysayers wrong. Turning your back on Royce is pathetic and is a tell to your character.
Sorry Royce, I don't understand your disability. I don't think I could unless I had it or maybe if I was around someone who did. I do understand disabilities. I have been disabled for many years and while mine is a physical disability and not a mental one I do see some similarities. I would much rather deal with a physical disability or pain rather than mental disability or mental pain. The hardest part for me is trying to understand what you're trying to bring attention to. I don't know what you want people to understand without you pointing it out to me. I don't see what positive has come out about your condition in the way that you are handling it. I remember at tournament time last year when you weren't on twitter and you were playing your game and doing interviews the amount of positive things that was being talked about by the national media was huge and doing wonderful things for enlightening the public of your condition. I would never suggest you play in the NBA for the money if you weren't happy. Money will never replace the happiness and peace of mind that you can have if you do what you want in your life. It might be time to make some hard decisions in your life. Whether you or I or anybody else has a disability the world is not going to lay down and let your dictate how others live their lives. I wish you well.
