Nice last play there, Lucious for the pull up 3. Sweeeeeet.
We all knew that was coming when he didn't make an effort to create a play until there were eight seconds left and by then chucking up a three was his only option. Geesh!
Here's why we're trailing:
We're giving up too many open threes. Yale is shooting 5-11 from behind the arc. Yale is also sending a lot of guys to the offensive glass. When we get the defensive board, we're not making them pay with transition buckets.
Yale is fouling us a lot, but we're not making them pay for it at the charity stripe (those last three free throws by Lucious helped our average, though. It's 67 percent for the game).
We're taking a lot of forced shots. We're shooting 26 percent from the floor. Abysmal!
And why, game after game, do we come out sluggish? It's like we're not ready to play until that first TV timeout, or until Niang and McGee get into the game. That's why I don't like the starting five that we've got out there. Niang is less athletic than Clyburn but he makes fewer bonehead plays.
