I think Kansas wins by about 10 points, maybe more if we foul at the end.

As long as ISU looks competitive, I won't consider this a debacle. I'm much more interested in Saturday's game at Hilton vs. Texas. If the Cyclones do lose to Kansas, that game becomes much bigger with an 0-2 start and a home loss being possible.

If we shoot well and Lucious actually distributes the ball like a PG should, then I think we will win. That being said, I don't see both of those things happening.

I don't think we match up that badly at each position. That being said, other than Babb I don't really trust our defense and we end up giving up 91 points.

Kind of hard to say. KU played some great competition last year pre-conference. Their schedule has been pretty meh so far this year (although much stronger then ours).

True, they did play tough competition last year, but they lost the real tough ones (Duke, UK). They also lost to Davidson at KC. KU is actually 8-9 deep this year; last year the first man off the bench was former walk-on, Teahan. If I had to bet, I would say that this years KU team would beat last years team at this time, but it's hard to tell. KU plays a decent Temple team later today.

This is why I think we can keep it close. If Babb knows he has a mission, he can slow anyone to well below their average. I hope ben knows what knid of aftershave Babb wears after the game. I hope babb, follows Ben into the locker room at half time and after the game. I hope the only way to get Babb off Ben is to get a restraining order. I hope when Ben goes to take a bite of cereal in the morning Babb knocks the spoon out of his hands.

Anyway, I think it will be less than a 10 point game throughout, possibly becoming larger at the end due to fouling to stop the clock. I hope for the miracle upset though.

Babb could limit McLemore to no points, but who's going to stop Releford, Withey and Johnson? Outside of Babb, we don't defend nearly well enough as a team to have a chance to win this game. Unless somone like McGee or Clyburn gets smoking hot from downtown, we're in for a beating in this game.

Want to see everyones projections of Wednesday nights game in Lawrence.. I would love to see our Cyclones pull off the upset, but frankly think we are going to get the **** pounded out of us ; 88-69. Then next Saturday's game against Texas is no cupcake either..

I'm all over the map on this one.

My preseason guess was L 83-70. Still sounds reasonable.

It seems like ISU ought to have a shot. KU's resume isn't extremely impressive. Can't knock the win at Ohio State (although OSU got crushed at Illinois, somewhat dropping the quality).

Then again, over the years, the better I like ISU's chances @KU, the worse the game is.

Too many turnovers to compete at Phog. Final KU 90, ISU 70. It isn't as close as the score would suggest-- KU by 15 10-minutes into the game.

KU will guard the perimeter like crazy and dare us to drive on Withey, so a bad shooting night too boot. I think this is a terrible matchup for ISU due to Withey. Maybe Fred will try to get him in foul trouble early - has he guarded any left-handers?

I would like to think that they would protect the basketball and not commit those dumb turnovers, and it could be close. But that would be the triumph of hope over experience so far this year.
