Yes, this was the worst call of the game. I didn't see any other calls that I'd classify as egregious, though.

As far as ISU-KU predictions:

My biggest concern is the one echoed by everybody else on this board. Ok, so Babb guards McLemore on the theory McLemore is their best player. But who guards Withey, Releford, Young, etc.? We don't have enough quality forwards to match up with this Jayhawk team.

I think Iowa State will defend Kansas like we did last year against Kentucky when we played well off the ball and forced their jump shooters to make outside shots. Unfortunately, Kentucky obliged. That's usually how you defend a team when you're overmatched, and we will be. Kansas has proven they can rain threes if you leave them open. We'll have to pray that their hot hands turn cold when the Clones come to town.

For us to win, we'll have to make a ton of threes like we did last year at Texas A&M or at Oklahoma. The difference is that we had Royce White to draw a double team, leaving a shooter open. Nobody fears our forwards this year.

If you look back at that 2001 team that beat Kansas twice, our forwards were Paul Shirley and Martin Rancik, two good players for sure but not All-Stars. We won those games against Kansas by shooting lights out from downtown.

Hope to draw Withey out of the lane whether with ball screens or having booker or Niang stand by the three. If that happens Korie is going to have to play smart and drive and dish.

I asked this in another thread, and not that I think it would have a HUGE impact on the game, but aren't the KU students still on break this week?

Yes they are, and thanks to Adam Gray for posting a link, I have a couple of their tix!

I did call the ticket office to see how it worked though since they are GA. Apparently students had the option of opting in or out of the games over their break, and they get to go in first. So there will still be some students there.

A huge chunk of KU students are from within an hour of the campus anyway, so I would be guessing there will be a significant number of them there on Wednesday.

We will struggle getting points in the paint, and since Scotty graduated, our 3-point shooting percentage has dropped significantly, especially on the road.
