Re: NO SHAME -- A positive KU postgame thread
Lot of positives tonight. Great to see them step up, now you got a chance to get better and win a lot of games. Just have to keep it there. Lucious, Melvin, Babb, McGee, Niang all were really good. Clyburn played much better. Lot of improvement to make but if they can give that effort consistently they have a chance to be really good.

Everyone is saying how much more optimistic they are now for the rest of the season, and that could be right, but I've also seen teams come off of devastating losses like this and go into a funk and a losing tailspin. Have you seen this happen with one of Fred's teams? No? Me either. Have you seen the exact opposite? Yes? Me too. I give CFH a lot of credit because he always, always has his teams looking forward and not dwelling. Originally Posted by clonedude We shall see what happens? But now, it's a non-story. It's nothing more than just another KU win at home. Nothing to see here. Move along. It's not a chance by any stretch of the imagination; it was an earned opportunity. The boys and the coaches busted their assess off tonight and probably all week preparing for this game.
And why will there likely be so much chatter about it if it's a non-story? Go ask the other Big 12 coaches if tonight was a non-story; I guarantee this game gets reviewed ad nauseum by every team that plays Kansas, and every team that plays us for the rest of the year.
I just don't get you, man...you see a thread titled "NO SHAME -- a positive KU postgame thread", and rather than going into any one of the other "we should have done X, if it weren't for Y, blame this on Z" threads to spout your pessimism, you come in here and **** all over it. Thanks a lot.

Re: NO SHAME -- A positive KU postgame thread
Going to be honest here. I thought this game was not going to be close. The thought of keeping it close was not in my mind before the game. I knew that Kansas was somehow going to put off a victory and after that bank three went in for Kansas to force OT, I knew we were done. I saw a lot of positives in this game. The guys should keep their heads held high. They fought with the best in the Big 12 for 40+ minutes at one of the toughest places to play in the country.

Disappointed in the ending, but CFH had a hell of a game plan.......and it was working in a very hostile building.
Everyone who has Twitter.......you need to tweet a good game message to the players......I'm sure they would appreciate it. Overall they played well.......and it can still be a great season.

Considering I thought we were going to lose by 20, I'm very disappointed but not too upset

Re: NO SHAME -- A positive KU postgame thread
Very proud of the Cyclones tonight. We played like an NCAA Tourney team. We had Kansas beat, if not for that crap three point shot. I thought Fred had an awesome game plan and the players showed more poise than in any other game this year. It sucks to lose that one, but is time to move on and I feel like we made a lot of progress tonight. Bring on Texas, in our house.

I don't like talking about "moral victories" either, but this game did show that Iowa State can play with the big boys. After all of the B*t**ing about our weak schedule, etc, this game is an overall positive.

We are here because we see what a grand effort our players put forth.
So why are you here?
The only choices you made tonight is to be cynical or critical and irritate people!
So your glass is half empty, wait your dixie cup is half empty, or plastic cup.
So are you a two finger cynic, use both index finger to type.
You didn't put any effort into this game , but in your mind you'd never miss a shot or free throw.
You are the typical whinner, can't really put up, but won't shut up!
Shut up and go write your opnion on another blog.
Go Cylones!! Beat Texas!

As I've been saying, chances like this don't come around hardly ever. It COULD have been a program changing win, but instead is just another loss. It COULD have been the lead story on all the sports pages and ESPN. Winning at Kansas hardly ever happens. It is HUGE.

Good gawd, you are irritating.

Re: NO SHAME -- A positive KU postgame thread
Great game plan, great execution and effort, just one stupid freaking bank shot short. But I have much higher hopes for this team than I did coming in (and I felt they could make the tournament if they gelled).
