Re: To much credit being given to Mclemore
He had a good game. He'll have better ones. He did, no matter what he says, did not call glass. You wouldn't do that. It was a bad shot but it went in. Just how it goes sometimes.

I disagree. He won't have a better game in college. Maybe at the next level.

If you don't count last year.

I think probably what he meant is that when it left his hands he called bank because he knew it was long. I've done that before.
Re: To much credit being given to Mclemore
Never said he was over-rated. Infact, I believe he is the best player in the Big 12 but he was out of his mind last night! The only game he has played this year that could rival his performance was against Belmont. The kid missed two shots all night, he buried 6 out of 6 threes and made all seven of his free throws.
He had a special night and I will gladly eat crow if he continues to shoot as well as he did last night. But I just dont think it will happen.

If you're trying to say that shooting above 80% from the field and scoring over 30 points is a rare feat, I think you're probably right. However, McLemore deserves all of the credit for that; as others have pointed out, he's got incredible skills (elevation, good stroke, etc.) that enable him to perform like this.

Your OP began, "In my opinion, everyone is giving Mclemore to much credit for his performance. The kid plain and simple had the game of his life. He shot out his ***! Everything he threw up went in!"
This is hardly the same as saying he is the best player in the Big 12. It is nearly impossible to give him too much credit for his performance. That is what hurts so much. If he just has an ordinary good day, we win. But he wasn't just lucky. He took good shots with good form.
Re: To much credit being given to Mclemore
Scoring 30+ while guarded by Babb for most of the game = too much credit. Ok.
Re: To much credit being given to Mclemore
Being the best player in the Big 12 is one thing but consistantly doing what he did last night would be amazing! I never once said he wasnt a good player but everyone that expects him to keep shooting that well is crazy. Just look at the Temple game, did he look anything like he did against Iowa State? He has had some good games this year but he has also had some below average games too. If he doesnt shoot the way he did, Iowa State wins.

I think maybe you are confused as to what "to much credit" means...
Re: To much credit being given to Mclemore
So no one thinks he won't own TCU or Tech at home? Seriously were top 4/5 in this league right now and he had an amazing game. What would he do to them? If they're feeding him the ball he could break 50, or maybe a triple double. They're that bad (TCU/Tech). I really believe Ben McLemore is an All-American. Like his skill, not his attitude.

I totally agree with you but doesnt he have the same elevation and same good stroke every game? Why hadnt he performed this well all season? His previous game was NOTHING compared to last night.
He is very talented but all Im saying is that he had a crazy game. Kind of like Scotty last year at Kansas State.
