Getting pretty excited about this team, they've got what it takes. i haven't watched every game this season, but i remember him looking terrible early on at times. if our guys could finish, he could have had 5 more assists today easy. every now and then, he still has a tendency to dribble too much and get picked. had it not been for a kick call, it would have happened near the end of the game. lucky call.

This is a good team now.......it could be a great team by March!
5 Turnovers today............5!
Texas lead the country in 3 point defense percentage.......ISU shot over 17 percent above the percentage Texas normally allows.
This team has a chance now to win a few in a row here and really build some confidence in league play. If they do that.......they will be very good by March.

The guy's fundamentals are definitely above a freshman's though. Very, very good player. There's a reason why he won his team's MVP award over #1 national recruit Nerlens Noel (on Kentucky).

Tyrus is one of my all-time favorites. Love his hustle and fearlessness. Plus he heats up in a hurry from outside.

3pt fg%
texas 22.2%
isu 42.3%
we actually got outrebounded today which was surprising. only by one though. we were better in literally every other stat though.

Re: ***Official Texas/ISU Postgame Thread***
Also, I was thinking this during the Kansas game, and after seeing today I'm still thinking it. It scares me to be thinking it, because I know its way too early, especially after the non-conference performances.
This team's play the last two games reminds me of the 2000 squad in conference play. Those guys went at the other team in a fearless manner, aggressive, strong fundamental basketball, and they weren't afraid to shoot from anywhere on the court if they were open. I know we don't have Tinsley and Fizer, but the results on the court are similar. The only difference is the 2000 guys closed out the game at Kansas.
