He played and played well. Glad to see his contribution today. Really good effort!
His contribution today was definitely a positive. Most of you can shut the F up. He's a body we are going to need and need in a big way if we want to contend and make the NCAAs. That 10 minute blow for Niang is huge to keep Georges and Mel fresh.
Booker is still finding his spot. I'm sure he wishes he were starting. When he comes in, it seems like he sometimes is trying to hard. Hence the quick fouls. As the season goes on, we are going to benefit from his size and experience in plenty of situations.
I like Book and I think we need him but I was at the game today and watched him very closely. He was very frustrated. He wouldn't pay attention to Freddy while there were breaks and when a big play happened and Hilton and the bench players exploded, he sat there expressionless. I know it's hard on him since it's his senior year and he's not getting the minutes he was expecting but he needs to have a better attitude for himself and the team. He needs to use this as motivation to get better and earn more minutes, not bring the team down by having such a negative attitude.
Booker is naturally a reserved guy and he is frustrated. He's a team guy and has tweeted several times that coming to Ames was the best decision of his life. He was pretty good in his role last year but he's had to take a backseat to Niang. He needs to find his role on THIS team and that probably isn't going to be scoring many points. He loves to emphatically block shots and he is so big and strong, it is hard for him to not foul. Today was a good start for him.
I apologize for rambling.
I have a soft spot for Booker, so I hope he keeps his head up. We'll need him yet this year and I thought he gave us some good minutes today.
He's needed now and is going to be needed. He makes an impact that you can't really see on the stat sheet. I mean, I don't know him so he might just be an overall tough guy, not an attitude.
He is still our best defender in the post IMO. I'm not sure why he tries to block every shot but I think at some point this season he will be very important in a big game.
In the second half, when he was playing pretty well, after they took him out he whipped his towel over at the bench during the timeout. Looked really PO'd that he wasn't staying in. Some might call it "bad attitude" but I liked the fire of someone who wants to be in the game. Needs to channel it to positives on the court instead of quick fouls however.
